I think the first thing we must understand is the depravity of man. We are not good people. I saw you said there are so many "good people." But Jesus said no one is good, no one but God. Jer. 17:9 says our hearts are deceitful and wicked. God doesn't see His creation as good people. He sees us as sinful, unholy, undeserving human beings that have chosen to go their own way... without Him. He chose to save some to be with Him when they die. That's a merciful God. I'd recommend reading the book, "The Holiness of God" by R.C. Sproul. That might help some. If we understand how sinful our sin is and how holy God is, then it makes sense that He will throw people into the lake of fire and why we all deserve it, even the nicest of people like little old ladies.

You're saying God is evil? Why do you worship him then? If God wants you to suffer, Amy, he can't be a good God. You don't deserve to suffer - you're a bit mixed up in the head but to think that you deserve horrible torment is a thought I would ascribe to evil, not good.
I think old people are actually the most sinister. Would you really suspect the little old lady of being the Backwoods Slasher?
And if anyone just listened to Scott Adams, you'd know all people are inherently selfish, stupid, and horny, when you boil them down to their most basic.
Sure, telling kids how deceitful and wicked they are and how sinful, unholy and undeserving they are will make them behave perfectly but telling them that they share a common ancestor with other primates will make them go on killing sprees.
Well now, that's your gods fault isn't it. He made the garden, put Adam and Eve into it along with the snake who started the whole business of them eating the forbidden fruit. They would have had no knowledge of what sin was unless God first set them up to fall. Then God made every one of their descendents guilty of their sin by means of inheritance.
Not a worthy god at all if you ask me.
You know, when these people try to explain how wonderful, merciful, and great their god is... they make him out to be all the more horrible and shitty. Fancy that.
So, why are you haranguing people to follow your cult of death, when you state there are no good people, so why bother trying to live a good and descent life?
Holiness and sinfullness are not opposites, at least to some theologists. And the Jesus of the NT never said any such thing. Your quote from the OT is out of context and does not support the rest of your assertions.
What bible version are you using?
I hate you, I hate you! You mortals make me sick! I can't wait to burn every last one of you! You're all vile and despicable pieces of shit!
But please love me and do what I say.
We all have the free will to choose how we behave. We are not inately evil. Bloody stupid and selfish a lot of the time, yes, and capable of enormous acts of evil at times, but it isn't something we are born with. Nor are we naturally particularly 'good'. We are moulded by genetics, our socialisation, physical status*, and the choices we make.
There is no 'original sin'. That was just a concept introduced by the Church to keep it's people in emotional bondage and to have them spend money buying indulgences and going on pilgrimages to try to avoid hell.
(*e.g. research is linking head injuries to violent/criminal behaviour)
But Jesus said no one is good, no one but God.
Then Jesus can fuck off. I choose to be a good person, and I've managed to be pretty good at it so far. I don't need fear of damnation to force me to behave myself.
It's okay, if you're a serial killer you can repent on your deathbed and go to heaven. You can be an atheist, and spend all your life saving orphans in Africa but you'll go to hell for not kissing Gawd's ass.
So stupid...
Jer. 17:9 says our hearts are deceitful and wicked. God doesn't see His creation as good people. He sees us as sinful, unholy, undeserving human beings that have chosen to go their own way... without Him.
Allpowerful being failed to create decent humans and it's humans' fault.
Ok, following that stupid logic, why did he create us, to begin with?. Worse off, why did he create us with free will, if he knew what was going to happen?
Yet God declared his creation good, could your God be wrong?
And this rant is just sad. How can you hate yourself so much to buy into this shit, to believe that you are a sinful evil thing not worthy of an imaginary sky-daddy's love?
Sounds like my mother, with her constant "you ruined my life by being born" and "you're an evil piece of shit who doesn't deserve my love". Same routine as the OP, really... she created me, but it's my fault I exist and I must be punished for it.
Keep your "original sin" crap; my guilt button is out of order. A fat, angry, self-righteous bitch did her dance on it a few too many times.
And who said old ladies were nice? See above.
Confused?
