A letter from hell is a made up video dramatization about two friends, Zach and Josh. They were best buddies who did everything together. They played sports, did homework together, and they were close like brothers. Zach was a Christian which means a follower of Christ. Not once did he ever talk to Josh about Jesus and sadly, he had plenty of opportunities.

Tragically one night, Josh drank a few beers, died in a car crash, and went to hell. In the video, Josh is telling Zach about his terrifying experience as soon as he died, and is wondering why he never told him about Jesus. Josh said that he tried to bring up the subject many times about Zack being a Christian. For some reason, Zach did not want to talk about it and always changed the topic to something else.

In his letter to Zach, Josh is telling him his experience step by step. He is seeing angels and the angels are looking in the Lamb’s Book of Life to see if his name is written in there. They told him that only the names that were written in the book were able to enter heaven. When they tell him that his name is not there, they start leading him towards hell which is a place of eternal torment for those who rejected Christ. You can hear the terror in Josh’s voice. He is beyond frightened. He is telling him how he can feel, talk and see, but he is in a horrible place. Again, he is asking Zach why he never told him how to be a Christian. Josh goes on to say that he is getting closer to the flames and he can smell the brimstone and sulfur. Finally, he is thrown into the fire. The video ends by Zach responding to Josh’s letter and saying that he had no time to tell him about Jesus and that he could not be bothered.

Although this dramatization is fiction, it is really reality. How many people have come and gone in our lifetime without us telling them about Jesus? In the Bible in Mark 16:15, it says to “Go into the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” We as Christians are commanded to do so. We are to tell others that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so we can have eternal life. In Zach’s case, if Josh was his best friend, why would he want his best friend to go to such a horrible place? Zach knew very well that this place exists.

I think we can all ask that question ourselves. Do we tell others about Jesus? Our job is to tell them. Then it is up to them if they want to accept or not, but we have a responsibility. When I get to heaven some day, I don’t want Jesus to say to me, “Why didn’t you tell others about me?” This video will really touch you because this is reality and happens all the time.
