Wanna know why this quarantine is all based in fear?

We fought the Revolutionary War during a smallpox epidemic and were not afraid in those days. Not only that, but we fought World War I during a Spanish Flu epidemic, and fear did not stop us from victory back then either. The country has grown too soft, and we've been boxed in for too long. As my good friend Scott/SpecialGuestStar says, it's time to get out and go.

More people die from disease than from actual warfare. Ever heard of the Black Plague?

I bet the military health service still did quarantines then, sunce epidemics and warfare are linked, the former making the latter difficult and the latter helping the former to spread.

The Spanish flu was right after the war, if you’re talking about that worst outbreak and a lot of it was due to several cities lifting the quarantine way too early. Nobody is opening up on that note, Bobby, because you wanna feel manlier about yourself.

Back then, people were more accustomed to seeing siblings, parents and children dying early.

Most people during WWI that died in the Trenches, died of diseases, not weapons. Dysentery was a big killer, I believe.

People had five-eight-ten children, just to make sure that enough of them survived to adulthood, and could take care of them when they grew old. People just couldn’t afford to “invest” too much feelings into their kids before they reached age 5 or 10, because odds were, they’d die soon.

It wasn’t so much lack of fear, but lack of “investment” of love in what we now call “loved ones”.

Right - he probably believes that the fear and “negative emotions” / sinful thoughts caused the virus to come into existence, and thus the only cure is prayer or that actual science needs to be “supplemented” with prayer.

Actually, the Spanish Flu broke out in 1918, while WWI was still on. When the Armistice came, it brought on another outbreak, the downside for all the people who were out celebrating. So…40 million died in the Great War, but 50 million died in the flu epidemic.
