Most people immediately get injected before any symptoms appear..
Yes, of course, they bloody do! It is the only hope! As long as the virus has not reached the brain, which fortunately the disease has not begun, and the immune system has a chance to fight the infection. But once the virus has reached the brain, as soon as the symptoms begin… you are DOOMED. Doomed to, without hyperbole, one of the worst deaths known to mankind.
We are talking about a fate so horrific that, back before the vaccination, people would commonly commit suicide after being bitten, and so deadly that, in the entirity of medical history, less than thirty people have survived it!
And yes, the rabies vaccine is one of the riskier ones - contrary to what you disinformants slander, that is well acknowledged, and consequently, it is not given prophylactically unless you are in an occupation where this is a risk. But if you *are* infected, or even may have been infected (such as when you find a bat at home - they have fine teeth with whom they can bite you without you ever noticing)… you damn well should want to be vaccinated, because, really, pretty much everything is better than rabies!
