However, I couldn't help wondering if the 555 had any Biblical meaning. You know, like 6 is the number of man, so 666 is the Antichrist. 7 is the number of perfection, so 777 means God. I couldn't find any definitive Biblical meaning for 5.
Then I looked up 5 and "meaning" as a general idea in Google...and occult websites came up. Apparently, it symbolizes death to them. (Don't know exactly why, didn't really care at that point to read those sites any further to find out.)
One website claimed that 555-2368 (hate to even type it now) was the most often used number in movies and Tv shows. I don't know if that's true or not, but I did find a list of 10 instances. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more. In addition to Ghostbusters, it was used in the Mel Gibson film "Forever Young" and at the start of every episode of the Rockford Files.
So every time 555 is used in Hollywood, it is a demonic declaration of death.

555 is the phone number of movies because, according to statistics, it's a NON-EXISTING number, so that people can't make fun of that. Simpler, more evident and more convincing.

NO, five does not mean DEATH in occult circles. Generally in numerology five represents the human microcosm: Five fingers, five senses, the five elements (the standard four plus spirit), the pentacle can be seen as a person with limbs outstretched.
And the reason they use 555 prefixes isn't some satanic conspiracy. it's because movie producers don't like being sued by people receiving constant crank calls because someone saw their phone number in a movie.

To find any occult reference to the number five, one has to look specificly for it. General meanings don't come with anything occultic.

That's odd, I looked up "meaning" and "five" in Google and didn't find anything about death. The first two hits were Bible sites. The first said that five was the creation plus one and that one was Jesus. The second looked at mentions of five in the Bible and concluded that five represented a heavenly secret. The third described the pentagram and mentioned death only as one of the five stages that humans go through. Next came a dictionary definition.

Just for kicks I ran teh google search they specified and the only relevant result I got was some ridiculous website dealing with the book of genesis and never really implied a specific meaning for the number 5, but instead elaborated on the fifth verse in the bible, the fifth day of creation, and the fifth toldoth division though they don't seem to relate to each other in the slightest.
