It's obvious that most people are repressed pedophiles. Try showing them a naked 9-year-old girl to someone and see if they actually respond like she's non-sexual. It makes people so uncomfortable exactly because they find it arousing, but they're too repressed to admit it. Compare it to how they treat naked 0-year-olds.
Maybe most people aren't pedophiles, but most people are definitely attracted to people younger than they admit. People married and had relations with "children" for thousands of years, people didn't just suddenly stop liking kids 100 years ago.

You have severe problems recognising emotion if you can't tell the difference between arousal and horror.

What people did realise 100 years ago was that diddling impressionable youngsters is in all likelihood going to end up traumatising the poor things, so suck it.
Paging Dr. Projection, Dr. Projection to room 8.
I've heard they actually did studies about this (albeit with not-naked motion shots, because ewww and also because it's easier to get grant money when you're not committing felonies left and right) and there is in fact a systemic difference, although I don't remember what it was exactly.
And people didn't "marry and have relations with" children in antiquity. They betrothed kids to other kids young, sure, but they were smart enough to put off any consummation until late in the teens, if even that early. After all, the goal of the whole exercise was to continue the lineage, and they knew well what kind of conditions would result in healthy kids and what would just kill people. Even then that was mostly the province of the rich, people who could afford to have their daughters become mothers and thus stop productive labor for their parents.
"Like it's obvious the world is flat?"
Not really, no, you can look in a telescope and verify that round-earth theory is wrong, but if you look at the reaction some random selection of people have to naked underage children you can't verify that they're "secretly turned on."
@Bill
Oh? So you can use a high powered telescope and see the NYC from Kilbaha, Ireland? Can use any magnification you desire, but not something that happens, is it?
Oh, oh! How about using a telescope and seeing why the sun "sets", something that couldn't happen on a flat earth. Or why everywhere it is noon in a line, the shadows are directly below you, something else that could not happen on a flat earth.
As for the main post, yeah, pedo/hebephilia aren't really a majority preference. It's just you and what, less than 10% or so of the population?
"Oh? So you can use a high powered telescope and see the NYC from Kilbaha, Ireland?"
I've never been to Ireland, so I don't know what you can see from there, but now that I'm sitting at the telescope again, I can see it from Alaska.
People exaggerate how pretty the country is.
I'm kinda reminded of the Joker from Dark Knight trying to argue that everyone is just as fucked in the head as he is.
And just like the citizens, we will prove him wrong by having basic human dignity.
If you're a man OP, does this turn you on?:

Unless your answer is the only one possible, then congratulations: you've proved you're an inferior subhuman paedo nonce.
But if your answer is 'No', then you've annihilated your entire argument. Otherwise, you're either A) gay, or B) a paedo.
And as Bettie Page is seen as a gay icon, then there's you stuffed.
Bettie Page. She tickles my pickle. And as she was in her thirties during her modelling career - and prior to Princess Diana from the early 80s onwards, Bettie was the most photographed woman on the planet - there's your 'argument' annihilated.
Otherwise, MILFs wouldn't be popular in porn.
Moral : Stop projecting so much, you make the IMAX format obsolete.
Due to the neotenization of beauty standards and the association of youthfulness with sex appeal, there probably are more people with induced ephebophilic tendencies than most people would be comfortable estimating, and it's something we in Western society should be discussing more often. This, however, is just a pervert justifying themselves by labelling everyone else perverse. Fuck that shit.
If you did this there would be a bit of shock but that's because (especially in North American culture) we're not used to seeing naked children, except maybe infants. In many European cultures many sculpture and paintings feature children of all ages.
The shock is that they're uncomfortable when presented with the image because of the way our cultures have treated nudity in general, not because they're aroused by children. Here's the test, show your buddy a picture of a naked boy (Since you seem to have such pictures hmmmm), oh, he turned away,, does that mean he's aroused by boys? What, you have no pictures of young boys, only girls, is that because the boys make you uncomfortable therefor aroused by your logic?
Is this what he does when he has company or does he carry such pictures on him?
“Try showing them a naked 9-year-old girl to someone and see if they actually respond like she's non-sexual.”
Dude, you horribly misunderstand the reaction. I mean, if you’re in an art museum and see a tasteful nude and slowly come to realize she’s underage, that’s one thing. If someone thrusts a picture out like that, they realize
1) YOU have masturbatory material of an underage girl
2) YOU expect them to accept masturbatory material of an underage girl
They may find the picture nonsexual, but YOU, they find very offensive.
I made a crack one time about downloading amputee dwarf pornography. A month later a guy shows up in offcrew and says, “I found that website.” Holy fuck.
He shared a screenshot of a centaur. Shetland pony body, human dwarf torso. The dwarf was female, the pony was an erect male.
MY reaction was very much not ‘I am aroused and must hide that fact.’ My reaction was ‘OMG, it’s REAL!’ and ‘GET AWAY FROM ME!’
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
