To: The President and The US Congress
Tell the President and Congress that the United States should adopt as it's motto "IN CHRIST WE TRUST"
The President has kept his promise to Christians voters by nominating SAMUEL A. ALITO. Now he needs your encouragement to restore America to it's Constitutional Christian roots by changing the official US motto to "In Christ We Trust".
Of course, we anticipate fierce opposition from every leftwing, Athiest, homosexual, pro-abortion organization in the country against this Godly campaign. They will not be satisfied until our judgment, intellect and integrity are severely attacked and this just, patriotic campaign is defeated.
Please follow the link below to the petition to tell the President that you appreciate him keeping his campaign promise and encourage him to stay the course. Tell him he can count on your support when the time comes.
Please sign the petition today. We would like for the President to receive one million 'thank yous'. With your help, we can. Please forward this to others on your email list.
This petition will be sent directly to President Bush in the White House and to every member of the United States Congress.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned

Well, Hadanelith beat me to it, sort of...
How about a million "Fuck you"s? Ever consider that not everyone who believes in a "God" believes in the sky pixie's half-breed posterity? Say, Judaism? Though I bet you're an anti-Semite because "They killed my Lord!!111"
Why yes, Theocrats ARE cute! Can I adopt this one, PLEASE?!
Do they not understand that the Founding Fathers were Deists, Unitarians, and other assorted non-Christian religions, and firmly believed that Church and State should be kept seperated in order to avoid the same problems that plague Church-controlled or oriented governments?
And how is being against abortion, Atheism, and homosexuality "patriotic"? It's merely differing beliefs, there's nothing patriotic about disagreeing with someone else.
So we skip God and go directly for Jesus? I so hope that when those guys get judged at the end of times that God sits there and slaps a few commandments in their face.
<<Thou shallt not have any other gods before me>>
Jesus is the son of, not god himself, therefore worshipping him as god is a risky undertaking.
<<You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.>>
sculptures of saints for the Catholics, crosses for all christians
<<You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.>>
All those who go around proclaiming that killing those who disagree is what god wants
2 people have signed, and one is Xoom, a democrat 4 jesus, and right wing fundamentalist. The other person is of course Erik K. Klafshenkel.
Way to go Erik!
It's already offensive as "In God We Trust." "In Christ We Trust" is just offensive to more people and even more incorrect.
How 'bout if we go back to that E Pluribus Unum motto. That was pretty good.
And would you idiot Fundies please shut up about this nation being founded as a Christian nation? It wasn't. No matter how much you really, really wish that was true, it just isn't. That make you liars and, as I recall, lying is against God's laws.
None of the first SEVEN presidents of the U.S. had anything close to an orthodox view of Christianity, most were simply deists.
Of course he assumes against the evidence that the US has Constitutional Christian roots.
Of course, we anticipate fierce opposition from every leftwing, Athiest, homosexual, pro-abortion organization in the country against this Godly campaign.
As well as every patriotic American Jew, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Zoroastrian and Wiccan.
Has anyone suggested to Erik that he might wish to by-pass the VP?
Also online petitions are not worth the paper they are printed on. You cannot validate the signatures.
I really don't think that any member of Congress fears losing the votes of "Nate Higgers", "Pinky Pultroon" and "Xoom".
If he was not such a bone-head, Erik would has insisted on verifiable correct legal names.
I can't understand why it should matter that the country was founded on it anyway. I mean, I wasn't homeskooled, so I know that the country was not, in fact, founded as a Christian nation, but even if it were--so what? We've moved so far away from how the country looked then in so many other ways--slavery, suffrage, etc. I just don't get it.
>>Of course, we anticipate fierce opposition from every leftwing, Athiest, homosexual, pro-abortion organization<<
Yes, because all those Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, Confucianists, Pagans, Jews, Sihks, and Shintoists are just going to LOVE this new development.
Stay out of Canada Klafshenkel
Actually, "God" is about as good as things get. The vast majority of Americans do indeed follow some form of religion, but not everyone who is religious is Christian.
I see no reason to change things right now.

I see reason to change them, but in the opposite direction. This is a supposedly secular nation; religious affirmations shouldn't be printed on our money.
The fundie nutcases love to say that if we remove "In God We Trust" that it discriminates against them in favor of Atheists, however notice they have a capital "G" god. Which religion calls their god simply "God". Jews usually won't spell out the name of God because of that whole 3rd commandment thing, Muslims say Allah, Buddhists are generally atheistic, this could go on and on, but we know which god they are talking about. By removing their little phrase on the money we make it where no one is discriminated against. It would only be in favor of atheists if we put "In No Gods We Trust" or something of that ilk.
Signature number 4.
<<4. Nate Higgers
Just try and oppose us, silly homos! Jesus Christianity>>
Nate Higgers.....well well.
This will make a very good impression I'me sure.
It is attrackting some fun comments from the opposing side, I think I'me going to follow this for a while.
<<< It would only be in favor of atheists if we put "In No Gods We Trust" or something of that ilk. >>>
Exactly. I can only imagine the reaction the fundies would have to that, and yet they do exactly the same thing to us. (Personally, I find it irritating but nothing more. They would almost certainly scream "PERSECUTION!!!!!1!11!" if someone even mentioned the idea of "In No God We Trust".)
shell -- It's the Fundie way: Bitch, gripe and moan about how we're getting away from what the founding fathers intended, then deny, deny, deny when the actual documentation shows the founders had some non-Fundie principles.
And, you right, while the founders had some great ideas and deserve respect, we don't live in the 18th century anymore.
I couldn't resist signing. I am Pinky Pultroon.
Replace an already unconstitutional slogan with one that's even worse? That figures. I wish the fundies would just go and start their own country somewhere else; they obviously hate the principles of this one, since they constantly distort history and ignore the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Well, there is a problem. One, the motto is a 1950's addition and it´s difficult to change. Second, there are moslem, Jewish and other faiths who voted him and can shun him. He is not idiot enough not to know that.
Besides, what he is doing is a waste of time. To be that, two-thirds of the parlament have to say so, which is not likely to happen. So, they are not going to stop you, your own ignorance will.
As of this time, almost two years later, they have just over 50 signatures. A little bit short of the million you wished is it? Its sad, because they are clearly so out of touch that they expected it to take off.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
