It depends on which one you speak to.
Just like the average person a conspiracy theorist may be smart, stupid, tall small old, young, focused or unfocused. They may have formal training in a field and they may not. The only thing I've found consistent with all conspiracy theorists is that they all come from the same standpoint: they feel like they've been duped by an authority figure and now they want to find out why.
Of the ones who publish books and have careers - unlike the armchair theorist - there are many who specialize in a very tiny area of thought. Joseph P. Farrell comes to mind. I think he over-extends himself a lot, but I understand where he's coming from and he spins a good yarn. And his yarn is highly limited to an examination of post-World War 2 America and Europe.
Then there are the generalists who simply look into as many patterns as possible. These people pick up, in my opinion, the most interesting patterns. A lot of people get caught up in this concept of a monolithic entity that singularly controls everything. Which is demonstrably idiotic. However, there are [competing] groups that really do wish to control as much as possible. Any reading of even a normal newspaper will confirm this. With the generalist they tend to seek patterns across multiple fields and see what fits. I like this angle because the tendency of an assembly of a more coherent picture that one can apply to world events. James Corbett is my favorite generalist. He's extremely well researched and emotionally grounded in a way that makes him very easy to listen to.
There are many charlatans and sadly they're the loudest and get the most attention. If you're interested at all I'd say look into James Corbett. He's a generalist and that's my personal favorite type of thinking in general. Specialists always end up in an intellectually myopic hole. The goal should be greater and more coherent understanding that can be relayed to others who are just as confused as you recently were.
That's a bit of a wall of text. Sorry.
This has been on my mind for a while and I couldn't help typing all of this.
I'm with Doubting Thomas. Differences in shipping costs are evidence of what?
Maybe the illuminati control McDonalds AND Burger King is run by the Beta Reticulans. Maybe that's why there is such a rivalry.
Stop putting amounts of money in your posts. You may attract a specimen of Illuminatus banksterii to your post. Then you'll have to deal with Chinese, Koreans, and "banksters."
On the other hand, don't listen to me. After all, I am a Jew, and we all kno what you mean by "bankster"...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
