Yes, children can for some unknown reasons make believe they are something they are not, fantasize about that, and eventually form a obsession of belief in that fantasy; to their long term detriment.
That is not a “nuance”, it’s a problem. Left ignored, untreated and enabled by parents it becomes a lifetime problem from the individual which not even surgical abuse of the body can adequately make up for, no matter how hard it tries.
I have no problem with laws that would say no, you cannot teach and preach transgenderism in the schools. You can teach and preach it to yourself and in your own family but not to children in school.
Enable a mental obsession and call it “O.K.”? No.
