Exactly!! Did you know the percentage of characters currently on U.S. TV who are LGBT+ is approximately twice the percentage of America’s population who identifies as such? They are far from marginalized, but their continued lack of gratitude makes me wonder how much is enough.

If you think people should be showing you gratitude for something as simple as remembering they exist outside of being bogeymen it's perfectly acceptable to make broad, sweeping falsehoods about and otherwise pretend they don't exist as long you can't see them in your immediate vicinity - which if you do you actively resent that sight and would much rather they not be around or go into hiding where you don't have to think about them outside of the tall tales you yourself partake in the invention of - then you're living proof an aggressive reality check is required.
Not to mention that the percentage of characters currently on US TV who are white is approximately many times the percentage of America’s population who identifies as such. Their continued lack of gratitude also makes one wonder how much is enough.
As LGBT+ people were virtually invisible on TV up until a few years ago, there is quite a lot to catch up on, dearie.
Ever heard about the Bechdel test? Two named non-male persons talking about something other than males. An astounding amount of films and TV series can’t pass that test.
And yet, I bet you’d be absolutely livid if you thought for a second that the LGBT community expected you to be grateful for the presence of white/cishet/male/religious characters in any given story.
You’re essentially saying here that you don’t want any of “them”, and only want to see “us” in fictional works. Maybe you want to rethink your outlook on that. Life gets a whole lot less lonely and hostile when you stop “othering” people.

The first lesbian & gay kisses on British TV were in soap operas.
Decades ago.
The channels on TV which aired those particular episodes - BBC & Channel 4 - are still on the air.
Should make you wonder, Kernel Shite Rider.
Yes, they should be so grateful that society finally allowed to exist openly without having to worry about being arrested, beaten up or killed for expressing their actual sexuality. How very gracious of you.
Does this idiot actually add up every single gay person featured in every single piece of consumable media? Does he think Waylon Smithers co-exists with Willow Rosenberg co-exists with John Constantine co-exists with…well, you get the point.
If you could, JAFTR, inform Colonel Bogey here that unless otherwise stated, one should assume that the gay population of any given fictional universe is congruent to that of the real world.
And also, where should they have stopped, hm? First it was, ‘stop killing us,’ then it was ‘stop discriminating against us,’ then it was ‘let us live the same kinds of lives you do.’ Where should they have stopped, exactly?
Confused?
