["I am doing a persuasive speech on this topic for college, and I am for it. I fell that if you have the right to determine the outome of a pregnancy you should have the right to choose the determination of your future."]
You certainly do NOT have a right to determine the outcome of a pregnancy - abortion has become to prevalent, but what exactly makes it any less murder than the killing of a child outside the womb? In my last pregnancy I was advised to "terminate the pregnancy" due to my having CMV. "Terminate the pregnancy." A cleaner way of saying "kill the baby". All society now needs to do is refer to child murder as "terminating childhood" and that makes it a tad more innocent.. and another step in the direction this world has been taking toward Sedom-like laws. You and I and everyone else have absolutely no right to terminate ANY life - whether in the womb, outside, or on a hospital bed. It is only for God to decide. Terrible stories have been told about terminating seemingly "pointless" lives - every moment of which was in fact offering the victim extra merits in the world to come, now "terminated" by those who supposedly loved him - and the suffering it had brought. Who are we to take the fate of another into our hands????

The moralist with herpes. Excuse me while I ponder this one.
The irony of this post is she doesn't realize she exercised the right to choose in not terminating her pregnancy that she is denying to others.
I assume that you don't use bleach, antibiotics, any form of water purification or, indeed, food.
"but what exactly makes it any less murder than the killing of a child outside the womb?"
Because it is in the womb, before the state recognizes it as a a person.
You had the right to choose and you did. This is what we are arguing for. You of course also have the right to choose not to terminate the pregnancy - and that's a good thing. And while in perfect world there would be no need to ever abort, illegally this has been happening for all of time. And your doctor only did what was legally required of her and sane so that you can't sue her for every penny he or she had.
Plants and vegetables are alive. Pigs, cows, chickens and other meat animals are alive. What the fuck are we going to eat, dumbass?
"It is only for god to decide"
And boy, did he ever decide in the OT, killing children, infants, and unborn children. So much for that "thou shalt not kill" statement, he can't even follow his own rules.
From http://www.evilbible.com/Murder.htm
The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night. In addition to these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God's irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of bald people, and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport. There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children.
It's HER body and HER baby. If she wants to terminate the pregnancy, that's her choice and her RIGHT, in this country. I'd like to see it minimized, but women should have the right to decide what to do with their bodies.
-no right to terminate ANY life - whether in the testicle, outside,or while you're asleep.
Why aren't we banning Viagra and Cialis; Christ on a crutch, have you READ the side effects??!
"You and I and everyone else have absolutely no right to terminate ANY life"
So..... wars and death penalties, I assume, should also be banned in your mind?
Somehow I doubt that.
stories have been told about terminating seemingly "pointless" lives - every moment of which was in fact offering the victim extra merits in the world to come
Suffer in the real world so you can be rewarded in a fantasy world? Why do you worship a sadist?
The fact that children outside the womb are separate beings, with functioning brains and nervous systems, and that embryos around week 12 (when most abortions are done) are neither separate nor having functioning brains and nervous systems, is what makes abortion less murder than infanticide.
As you were advised, you had a choice. That is what we are promoting; the choice for the woman to decide what happens to her body. In societies where women have no choice, they are sometimes forced to have abortions, whether they want to or not, if their "owners" don't want the offspring.
Who are you to take the fate of another human being in your hand? Let each person decide for him-/herself, OK? Are you against war and the death penalty too?
Uuuuhhh... By deciding to not terminate a pregnancy aren't you, you know, determining stuff? By staying pregnant you're making a choice, so...
An embryo is as much a baby as it is a senior citizen. This is just more pointless wailing from the concern trolling zygote worshipers.
what exactly makes it any less murder than the killing of a child outside the womb?
If you have to ask, you're too stupid for words.
"Terrible stories have been told about terminating seemingly "pointless" lives - every moment of which was in fact offering the victim extra merits in the world to come, now "terminated" by those who supposedly loved him - and the suffering it had brought."
Insert "Abortion sends children to God faster" macro here.
Seriously, how can you oppose not forcing women to give birth to anencephalic or harlequin babies who will spend the few hours or days they'll have to live in horrible pain, unless they're "lucky" enough to be completely mindless. Plus, if they're not born, they can't sin, now can they?
There's nothing wrong in Chana having an opinion, it just looses its potency and relevance when it is based upon an obvious fairy tale about something which does not exist. In fact it becomes the opinion of a vacuous mouth, flapping loosely as though driven by internal gremlins. A stultified brain, controlled by the fairy-man from a local cloud where it lounges indolently, laughing to itself while it feeds on one of its favourite delicacies, mental illness.
"It is only for god to decide"
So who says that, when a woman and her doctor decide to terminate a pregnancy, they aren't acting as an agent of god's decision?
Do you, Chana, absolutely know every thought in god's mind? No? Then stop acting like you do.
Confused?
