The Prop 8 issue is turning ugly here. I fear it will not pass. They say that we are lying when we say that it will affect school children....but look at the news with that KINDERGARTEN class having gay day- with parents not even knowing about it until it was too late! That is WRONG! They are running deceptive ads, yes on 8 is running truthful ones....but people could care less about the truth. Frankly, and I am just going to say this....how many gay people in CA have kids? Why in the world do they get to make decisions that affect our children? It WILL have an impact on the schools. They KNOW it. They want to redefine marriage, and fill the minds of kids who can't even read yet the knowledge of gay vs straight. It is stupid. Destroy childhood innocence so that gays feel more accepted. It is garbage. Yes, I am angry.

We should have the right to get a marriage license, all we're asking here. A civil union license =/= marriage license. More legal rights in a marriage license, plain and simple.

False. It was the parents' idea in the first place. Two kids were left at the school with another class because their parents didn't want them involved.

I got one better...I'd suggest a petition to ban straight marriage. I mean you can't go anywhere without seeing all those straight couples getting all lovey dovey with each other...hell, it's not exactly rare to see some of 'em needing a room bad...would you want your children exposed to such flagrant displays of sexuality?

I'm straight and I find it an outrage also because of the obviously totally fabricated bullshit propaganda campaign. What really causes more damage to kids is divorce, not some completely unrelated persons getting married, they don't take care of your kids and the school do NOT teach people to be gay (they're not allowed to).

You know, a great deal of society's problems can probably be attributed to idiot religious simpletons, like yourself, remaining childishly naive and ignorant well into adult life. Childhood innocence may have its virtues, but it can cause real damage if it persists too long. I've long held that much of religion is simply a way for adults to try and remain children (fuck, now that I think of it, Jesus practically admits this!), with all the problems one might expect of a child trying to deal with an adult reality - bewilderment with and fear of sexuality, egocentrism and a tendency to squabble, just-world fallacies and denial of unpleasant reality, magical thought, inability to exert rational control over emotion and instinctive urges, refusal to take responsibility for one's actions... Basically, if you want to understand religion, get a book on handling toddlers.
Once again, how does gay marriage damage you, your kids, or you marriage? If it does affect your marriage, you were having problems already. Maybe you're just afraid that if one of your kids turns out to be gay, they won't feel obligated to marry someone of the opposite sex just so your family line can continue.
