In my morality class (prerequisite-had to take it) we watched, basically, a gay propaganda film. Afterwards, the teacher asked those who wanted gays to be able to have marriage rights to raise their hands. The overwhelming majority was in favor, and you could tell that those who opposed were more than likely being thought of as discriminators. It's absolutely mind-blowing that our society praises sinful lifestyles and discourages holy ones (or says that every lifestyle is equally valid). "As long as someone enjoys a lifestyle, we shouldn't hold them back," was the basic image being portrayed in that film. It's quite funny how God's disapproval is almost never mentioned by the pro-gay group..it's almost as if they know God condemns the lifestyle, but as long as they play dumb, they can somehow get away with it.
I was almost ready to :puking emoticon:

Prove that God exists first, then we'll discuss how funny it is.

How does gay marriage "praise" or "discourage" anything? And if God condemns something, He can deal with it Himself. He didn't deputize fundies to enforce what they think are His laws.
Mr Owlish,
You can, of course, know god's thoughts?
You can, of course, know what he disapproves/approves of?
Sounds a little blasphemous to me, shit-head.
I'd be careful in assuming to know the thoughts of your diety.
From what I've read, false prophets don't fare too well in the eternal judgement department.
Well, that would've been a pretty piss poor morality class if it didn't advocate acceptance of gay people... I doubt this person will really learn anything about morals and ethics from the class, sadly.
And only some people think 'god' condemns 'the gay lifestyle,' okay.
Maybe they don't believe in God, to begin with, or they don't take seriously the question of lobsters, mixed fabrics and the sort.
It's funny how something that never made the seven deadly sins, never made the ten commandments, hell, never made more than, what, 2 passages in the bible, maybe one in New Testament is made to be the gravest sin of all time. I know there's a LOT more than that advocating against baseless hatred.
Not to mention there is no implicit mention of Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed for homosexual practices. They were destroyed because they were rife with sin in general. Not to mention, the M2M sex mentioned there wasn't homosexuality. It was rape.
So what was that you were saying?
"It's quite funny how God's disapproval is almost never mentioned by the pro-gay group.."
Consider gods disapproval of the race mixing lifestyle, and you may begin to understand why people like you are thought of as discriminators.

Probably because they don't give a shit.
@ GigaGuess:
You must have missed the memo, buddy: all homosexual sex is actually rape. And it's usually little boys being raped. Duh . Where have you been living? In reality ?

Bingo
I was with you up until the end. And I kept thinking you express my opinion so well I hope this ends really strongly with some emotion icon. But no and so the validity of your arguement went with it.
It's quite funny how God's disapproval is almost never mentioned by the "holy ones" it's almost as if they know God condemns the lifestyle of those who discriminate and condemn others, but as long as they play dumb to their blasphemous sinful lifestyles, they can somehow get away with it.
@ GigaGuess:
Don't worry about it. They'll be including it in the 2008 edition of the Homosexual Agenda. I think they might put it in the Atheist Agenda as well. Possibly the Liberal Agenda, but I think you might be able to get all three, along with the Evolutionist Agenda, as a box set this year. Look for the one with a picture of a cackling, horned Darwin surrounded in flames on the side.
Don't forget, you'll get a complimentary Christian Oppression, And How I Can Contribute to the Aryan Witch Hunt! pamphlet with it!
It's quite funny how God's approval of slavery is almost never mentioned by the anti-slavery group. It's almost as though they know God condones the lifestyle, but as long as they play dumb, they can somehow get away with condemning it.
Who's discouraging straight marriage? Perhaps the Bible Belt fundies, who have one of the highest divorce rates in the USA?
Not everyone is concerned about the disapproval of a mythical figure. I mean, have you considered whether Aphrodite might disapprove?
@Xotan
I've often wondered that myself...they decry us for wantonly living in sin, but as soon as we strive to remedy that situation, we're struck down, ironically using the selfsame sinful lifestyle as an argument. Less non-contradiction, I think, than circular logic in action.
The overwhelming majority was in favor, and you could tell that those who opposed were more than likely being thought of as discriminators.
Well, duh. You're not allowing two people who love each other to get married just because they happen to be the same gender. You don't think that's discrimination? What if the majority turned against you and decided that you shouldn't get married because they said so?
Tch, your morality class sounds a lot more enlightened than the one I had to take. The class as a whole wasn't that bad; it's just that we learned that homosexuals should be treated with compassion, but that the Church regards homosexuality as a sin. Which didn't sound that bad, but then I thought it sort of sounded like how using drugs is bad, but drug addicts should be treated with compassion. Homosexuality =/= drugs.
Confused?
