Prophets are people who hear God speaking to them about things happening today or things which will happen in the future, and bring this word to the people. They are mouthpieces for God.
I believe that one such prophet is a man named Chuck Youngbrandt. I've been reading his letters for years now, used scripture and logic to test the veracity of his claims, prayed to God about his genuineness, and I've become convinced that he's not a fraud. He's the real deal.
As with the prophets of old, Chuck's message is not well accepted among God's people. Why? Because he is bringing a message of judgment, and few American churches want to hear anything negative about our future. God's "people" want to hear messages of blessing and prosperity. They want to hear good things about their future and the future of our nation. So, when God wants to tell them about bad things that are soon to come upon us, their reaction is to berate the messenger and turn a deaf ear. It's sad, but I believe it's true. God's church in America has gone astray, seeking only what their itching ears want to hear. His Spirit is far from their hearts.

Oh foolish mortals with your lofty ideas of a life of peace and joy for worshipping the ONE TRUE GOD (tm), think that ye shall have prosperity in work, bounty in children and peace in existance? Think again, for the LAWD of LAWD'S is the supreme ruler, and like any kid in a sandbox he tires of his creations, and then shalt he bringeth down thine little lives with his mighty sandal, yea, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, he is NOT there. For he crappeth not once for thee, nor thy prayers or requests. But forget not to fillest the offering plate so that it overfloweth, 'cause skydaddy needs a new pair of shoes. Amen.
The crucial thing you need to remember about people who've been spoken to by god is that they're impossible to distinguish from people who merely think they've been spoken to by god. If god wants to spread the word, he just needs to make his voice heard by everybody at once, not one guy somewhere who the majority will not believe.
So, Jesus Christ was not a prophet, I mean, he said that many people would be saved. Besides, maybe they are rejecting him because he´s a crackpot, like the one of the JW. We´re still waiting since 1914 the end of the world.
"Prophets are people who hear God speaking to them about things happening today or things which will happen in the future, and bring this word to the people. They are mouthpieces for God."
Prophets are persons so deluded that they think their imaginary friends are talking and providing them with supernatural insight of future events. They are confused, often mentally ill, persons.
"I believe that one such prophet is a man named Chuck Youngbrandt."
I agree, Chuck Youngbrandt is a deluded, probably mentally ill, person.
"I've been reading his letters for years now, used scripture and logic to test the veracity of his claims, prayed to God about his genuineness, and I've become convinced that he's not a fraud."
The combination of reading his letters, using scripture and using logic is oxymoronic.
"He's the real deal."
Indeed. He is really deluded. Either that or he's a lying sack of shit out to make a buck and get some attention.
"As with the prophets of old, Chuck's message is not well accepted among God's people. Why? Because he is bringing a message of judgment, and few American churches want to hear anything negative about our future."
Or, it could be that many of the deluded Christian masses still have enough going on to realize that this guy is a dangerous nut.
"God's "people" want to hear messages of blessing and prosperity."
What's with the quotes? Are you saying that Christians are not actually people?
"They want to hear good things about their future and the future of our nation."
I would think that all of us would like that.
"So, when God wants to tell them about bad things that are soon to come upon us, their reaction is to berate the messenger and turn a deaf ear."
No, they probably just don't believe Chuckie's a reliable source of information.
"It's sad, but I believe it's true."
It's true, I believe you're a sad excuse for a human being.
"God's church in America has gone astray, seeking only what their itching ears want to hear."
Those itching ears are probably just a symptom of a wax build-up.
"His Spirit is far from their hearts."
He and his spirit are imaginary, therefore, they are never going to be close to anyone's heart.
"Prophets are people who hear God speaking to them about things happening today or things which will happen in the future, and bring this word to the people. They are mouthpieces for God."
No, they are schizophrenics.
I'm not familiar with Chuck Youngbrandt, nor his ministry, prophesies, or such. Therefore, I cannot say why his "message" is not being accepted by God's people. I really don't think it has anything to do with Ol' Chuck's message, regardless of what it is. I think the non-fundy or "lukewarm" Christians really don't believe the mumbo-jumbo of Christianity and are really closet-agnostics. They hope there is a God but just can't reconcile in there mind the discrepancies between what is taught in the Bible and what has been demonstrated to be true through sciencific research amd reality. It could be that they feel like they would be ostricized by their family and friends but most likely, they have not admitted to themselves how they really feel about religion. I base this partly on personal experience and by watching family and friends that are Christians and knowing how they act in differing settings.
That is my take on why "God's people" reject not only Chucky's prophesies, but those of any other forebearer of end time messages. You can take it and a dollar and maybe buy a cup of coffee somewhere.
I wonder if he realizes that it's exactly what he wants to hear.
He pokes at the typical churches because they don't want to hear death, judgement, all those things I blew off about religion. But doesn't quite seem to grasp that he believes them to be wrong, and wants to see them judged, so just as they ignore something because they don't want to hear it, he listens because he does want to.
(#116250) THE GREAT PARSER parses itself.
Eventually PAPABEAR does what one accuses another of doing.
"INDEED, HE IS REALLY DELUDED". Fine leave it at that parser freak.
But this use of the word EITHER,WTF????? Why should it have to be EITHER??? WTF, to use one of those ignorant curse phrases. Why should it not be BOTH? DELUDED, AND SHIT THAT MAGICALLY LIES? Is that more of a logical position?
EITHER THAT OR HE IS A LYING SACK OF SHIT OUT TO MAKE A BUCK AND GET SOME ATTENTION.
Gee, PAPAPARSER, what fool would write about shit being able to lie. Does shit only lie when it is in a sack? Does it have to be a plasctic sack? Paper sack?
Does shit think and arrive at decisions in your world dedicated to thinking EITHER one sentence at a time and eventually becoming a oxymoronic parser?
Nameless poster, you really should get your medication checked. Not for your opinion of Papabear, but for the almost complete incoherence of your post. It's verging scarily close to schizophrenic word salad.
@Patriot
I've become convinced that he's not a fraud
He's not a fraud. It's known as being crazy.
Wow, Papa has a fan club now. The secret admirer throws some pretty ballsy stuff, too, for a guy who can't even make the token gesture of typing a fake name.
So Chuck gets God wrong, then Patriot gets Chuck wrong, and when Papa calls him out on a site where no one's making any money, a random unnamed heckler accuses him of... being out to make a buck! Awesome.
Confused?
