Christians have forgotten that throughout history since the early church began, Christians have been burned at the stake , fed to lions, boiled in oil and much other fun stuff. This is nothing. Do you think those times won't return? It won't be long and we won't be worrying about Grammys, but about who or what family they're torturing or burning up on stage with them as they demonically laugh and laugh and laugh....

Actually it turns out the lion thing may not have been true after all, at least not specifically for being Christian. Long as you paid your taxes and rendered unto Caeser they didn't give a shit what you worshipped. There were so many different religions in conquered lands that it was far less troublesome to incorporate them as part of the Roman pantheon. Most notably, Egyptian gods and goddesses such as Isis were commonly worshipped the same as Jupiter or Mars and singling any faith out for persecution would have been both pointless and a sharp departure from their usual MO.
Rebellion and dissidence on the other hand was punished in a variety of horrible ways including ad bestias. It just so happened that religion is an excellent way to spread dissidence and incite rebellion. It's funny that no records referring to these executions specifically mention Christianity until several centuries after the fact when it was convenient to see everyone not of the faith as a violent savage out to murder everyone you love just because they don't believe what you do.
The other stuff is what early Christians had a habit of doing to everybody else and what a disturbing number of modern Christians really want to get back to doing. Of course, being told they can't is what makes them feel so persecuted.
What goes around comes around, sooner or later...
The feeding of humans to lions were probably very rare, if it ever happened at all. The lions were way too valuable to subject them to the possible diseases of unknown humans.
Who or what is Grammys? I doubt that it's the Grammy Awards...
You haven't SEEN what we Jews went through.
@Swede
Sadly, this IS how many fundies think of the Grammy Awards.
Fundies feel the need to be persecuted because that's what happened to the early Christians in the New Testament, and feeling what the early Christians felt shows how righteous and near to Jeebus they are. Trouble is that the persecution was actually sporadic, died out pretty quickly, and for the last 1700 years, the boot has been very firmly on the other foot. So, to Justificator: there are Christians who know what persecution is - they live in places like the Central African Republic, Indonesia, Iraq and Nigeria. When I hear you and other fundies do something on their behalf, rather than whining about your own possible, future persecution, then I will take you seriously. In the meantime, you're not even taking care of the Body of Christ, let alone your neighbor.
@Swede
It is the Grammy Awards, which feature "satanic rites" in the various performances and, this year, featured gay marriage.
@Swede :

It is in fact the Grammy Arwards, I have no idea why the OP hasn't mastered English plurals yet, though.
@Titanai:
To be fair, Americans fry everything...

FTFY. Or did you forget about the Inquisition?
Once, Rome had a large, strong empire. Christians got fed to lions. Then, one emperor converted the entire state to Christianity. Romans stopped persecuting Christians. Shortly afterwards, there was no Roman empire.
Obviously, feeding Christians to lions makes for a strong state.
There may have been a period of persecution that came from less competent emperors who needed a scapegoat but for most of Rome's history as long as you paid your taxes and paid lip service to the emperor the Romans generally didn't bother you. The Catholic Church took the exact same route. As long as you paid the Church and paid lip service to the Pope and your king you were generally left alone. However, there was a period of persecution when a bunch of ideologues took over.
since the early church began, Christians have been burned at the stake
... often by other Christians. Read about the Inquisition, the persecution of the Anabaptists and the Albigensian Crusade.
Christians have forgotten that throughout history since the early church began, Christians have had people burned at the stake , fed to lions, boiled in oil and much other fun stuff.
Fixed it for you...
It won't be long and we won't be worrying about Grammys
I wanted to pray one evening a few days ago, but Jesus spoke to me and asked me to wait until the Grammys were over, so I guess at least he cares about them.
"fed to lions"
Nah. No need these days. Y'see...:

...in Soviet Kiev, Christians get in Lions. >:3
"fun stuff"
You said it, I didn't! 21st Century Christain Persecution Complex: Fun for the whole family! >:D
It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said “Thou shall not kill”. For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of “all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses” (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered.
What these morons don't realize, every religion has been burned at the stake to various degrees and every religion has been burning others at the stake as well. Actually, everyone has been burning everyone since ever so there's no need to roll around being a martyr.
who or what family they're torturing or burning up on stage with them as they demonically laugh and laugh and laugh....
Oh, you wish, you sick fuck. That would make all your fantasies of persecution come true, wouldn't it? But it won't happen; Christianity will continue to fade in Western societies, and you crazy fundies will rant and rave and pull your hair while the rest of the world passes you by.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
