This is as mad as a balloon.
Here's a situation that will enrage a feminist:-
- what about a woman fucking a man - yes, she's on top; a very popular position we'll all agree. But! The man says "nope, don't wanna do this anymore". But she's bouncing on top of him, regardless of his request. This surely must be rape too, if we are to be consistant.
But...but...but.....
I told you it was as mad as a balloon.

Well... technically it would be, and for the same reasons as if the woman consents and then withdraws consent.
This isn't really fundie - it's pointing out a really murky grey area in the legal areas dealing with rape.
Of course morally it's the same, and if he's using that to argue that there is no rape.. well that's dumb.
If the man says "stop" and the woman refuses to do so? Yes, it's rape. Rape is a sexual act without consent. The sex of the participants would be irrelevant, except that (a) by and large, more women get raped than men, possibly because (b) it would seem to be much easier to rape a woman. Assuming the man in the above scenario is not immobilized in some way, he probably has the physical advantage, and it would probably be pretty easy for him to shove her off.
Feminist here. Not enraged. Try harder.
Irene
These dumbasses still don't realize, the rapist doesn't have to be the one penetrating, only the one in control, refusing to stop if told to.
Papabear, Sandman: No, it is NOT necessarily "easy" to get out of such a situation, and it is just sheer flippancy to suggest that no man would ever retract permission at that point. I speak from experience.
I really have no clue what this person means by "mad as a balloon" -- whether he thinks the reversal shows the original argument to have been mad, or if he thinks that the argument he's setting forth is silly but makes a point, or what. But I think that, yes, it technically IS rape if one person withholds or retracts permission and the other simply continues without it.

Yes, it's still rape. Please explain those "but's", because I see no problems here.
Also, someone doesn't understand the concept of metaphorical language. Mad as a balloon ?
Ah, I see. Trying to imply that feminists are ball-busting, controlling bitches who believe they should be able to "dominate men" but not the other way around.
Beware the feminists! They're aggressive and bitchy enough to want to rape you! *eyeroll*
While far less likely a scenario, yes, it would be rape. There's no doubt about it.
Its also unfortunately tougher to pass in court I'd wager, thanks to society and its opinion of things... but that's not women or feminists fault.
Your situation is, literarilly, non-existant. The woman has not the force or the capacity to coerce the man in such a way and the man can take her away any moment. If she´s on top of him, it´s because he has agreed beforehand. Second, if he doesn´t want to do it anymore, means that they don´t have sex any longer. She doesn´t keep, because there is nothing to keep to begin with.

Matilde: Not true. Not every guy is stronger or more massive than the girl he's with; some guys are skinny or small-framed, and some girls are quite hefty and strong -- and every guy has to sleep sometime.
~David D.G.
I agree, David D.G.
And Matilde, while women rarely rape men, it can and has happened. And telling those men that it didn't happen or that it was somehow their fault is just as ridiculous and cruel as treating a female rape victim that way.
I'm a feminist, and I am enraged....
1. Because IMHO' so stupid it's almost painful.
2. Because people assume that being a feminist means I hate/abuse men.
3. Because a situation like that is rape, and I'm disgusted and horrified by rape, no matter what the situation or who is involved.
I agree with everybody not seeing this as particularly fundie, but I love this: "mad as a balloon".
I'm as mad as a lamp!
I'm as mad as a calendar!
I'm as mad as a bottle!
I'm as mad as a window!
"I'm as mad as Windows", on the other hand...
David, Matilde: yeah, I remember seeing an article about a woman threatening a guy with a butcher knife to force him to have sex with her (well, not sure how reliable the article or my memory are: it was more than 15 years ago, when I was still just a kid, and if I remember correctly the paper was a tabloid-type thing). And of course we have the babblical example of Lot's daughters date-raping their daddy. Still, I'd be surprised if the female-on-male rapes represented over 1% of all rapes.
IMHO has obviously confused the meanings of "nope, don't wanna do this anymore" with “Oh, yeah. Don’t stop! Oh, god. Oh, god!” I hope this helps IMHO in some small way.
No, no, no, darling, feminism is not about being dominant towards men, it's about being equal. Meaning if both parties want to have sex, then the position is pretty much irrelevant as long as they're having fun.
I'm a virgin and I know that. You lose.
From my understanding of the matter, the closest a man's ever come to saying, "nope, don't wanna do this anymore," is "Zzzzzzzzzzz!"
Speaking as someone who plays in those fields...
Add some restraints (not uncommon) and a razor (likewise) and things can get out of hand very easily. Unless someone else here has had a straight edge held beneath their testes and would care to give a second opinion?
Seperating fantasy and reality is VERY important, IMHO. Do us a favour and learn it before you have sex, okay?
If he's using this to debate the existance of rape, then he needs to be locked away.
However, yes, this would be considered rape. And a woman has been tried for raping a man in US courts, so the scenario isn't totally ludicrous.
But that's no reason to condone or ignore rape.
@ Anon: Don't lump waffles in with this bugbrain's post. Unlike his words, waffles are actually quite tasty.
And yes, that would be rape. I don't see what you're trying to prove here.
Why would this be enraging feminists?
This particular feminist says: If he says no and tries to move away, and she holds on and continues, then yes, it is rape.
Maybe with a bit of extenuating circumstances; as you tend to get lost in your own feelings at climax, it can be a bit hard to perceive the retracted consent of the other person.
But this is exactly the same for both persons, regardless of gender, of course. If the other person doesn't get that you don't want to, then you push harder, scream louder.
Feminist here. Yup, that's rape. Women can rape. Apart from baseline level of pissed off that any human being would do that to another, not particularly enraged. As an aside, men also rape men, women likewise have been known to rape women. Can we just quit with the stupid jokes, and using it as a political football, it can't be making it easier for men and women who have experienced it
Yes, that is correct.
I'm not sure if this is a fundie. Either he's trying to deny the existence of rape, in which case yes, he is a fundie, and a pretty bad one at that too, BUT if he's (As I suspect) simply mocking the mindset and double standards of frightening amount of feminists, then he's not a fundie. Hell, that sounds like somthing I would do. A quick skim of the topic this quote comes from doesn't make it any clearer either.
In short: I don't know, therefore Touhou .

I tried that. It didn't work.
Mad as a balloon
Drunk as a cow. (wtf)

No, it won't work on someone who's intent on raping, or doesn't care about consent. But with someone who does care, they will hopefully stop if you push hard enough.
To the OP, why is a balloon mad?
Confused?
