If you give and you teach and you disciple women in the congregation—single women, married women, aged women, young women—in feminine power, then you’re going fight against the kind of Satanic power that comes in. There’s a reason why young girls are often attracted to Wicca, a made-up neo-pagan religion. Wicca gives them a feeling of power.
There’s a reason why so many girls in our culture and girls in our churches are in bondage to anorexia and bulimia—because it gives them a sense of power. “I may not be able to control anything else, but I can control my waist size.” That’s a Satanic form of power.

Weren't there also many black Civil Rights activists, such as Malcolm X, who became Muslims because they saw Islam as more black-friendly than the 'white man's religion' Christianity?
Or, it could be that Wicca, like other religions, provides the practitioner with a sense of 'homecoming'. Finding one's spiritual calling. Perhaps it speaks to someone in ways christianity and the other Abrahamic religions do not.
That's what it was like for me. I started out Wiccan then moved on to a more Traditional...well, Tradition years later.
It isn't about power, though I can see how a person who comes from a religion that makes them feel essentially powerless and worthless would think so.
By the way, there are a lot of men who practice various Pagan Traditions as well. I invite you to ask our brothers if they embraced Paganism in order to feel 'powerful'. After they're done laughing, they'll explain that their Tradition speaks to them spiritually - just like us wimmins would.
Get over yourselves. That aura of superiority christianity generates (particularly in male practitioners) is vile and most unbecoming.
Also, you might try not psychoanalyzing people and bitching about beliefs you don't understand.

Whereas fundamentalist Christianity wants to take all power away from women and force them to be submissive baby factories their whole lives. Maybe if you'd start treating women like equals they won't leave your religion.
Maybe if you didn't treat women like doormats, they might stick around? Galatians 3:28 says that there is neither male nor female in Christ, so I 'm not sure it's Satan's influence on the women that you should be worrying about.
The wiccan groups I know treat everyone as equals. None are demonized or marginalized because of their gender. And while financial gift are welcome, they are not required, or even solicited. Ones' time and any resources that can be spared are very appreciated. Compared to the Panhandlers for Jesus I encounter constantly in the Bible Belt, it's a breath of fresh air.
And thus we get to the whole nub of the fundies' gist: Control.
And they don't like it when people - particularly women - think for themselves .
Keep thinking SpukiKitty & all your ilk. It makes the fundies nervous. >:D
You cannot disguise your intention for women to be treated as subservient to their husbands or fathers by hiding it behind 'feminine power'. Nice try.

Christianity, a made-up Abrahamic religion. Christianity gives its preachers a feeling of power.

Eating disorders are problems that need to be dealt with, but you're not helping.
So; A NeoPagan faith is an eating disorder?
I hope all the women in Moore's church vacate immediately and run to their nearest Coven and/or Occult shop.

Funny thing is, if you remove pretty much all of the additional dogma, nowhere in the Bible does it actually say that Satan is evil or God's opponent.
Turns out he's more or less God's left hand man - the guy who tests people's worthiness and testifies against them on their judgment days.
...And furthermore, Satan isn't even a name - much like "God" it's a fucking title that's more or less equivalent to "Prosecutor".
....Ahem, anyways.
Congratulations, in an attempt to demonize Wicca, Russell Moore, you just made it sound better than it really is.
Oh it's got problematic origins in that its founder was a fucking perv who liked seeing ladies naked, and its completely fabricated appropriation of Cernunnos, but other than that, it's no different from any other religion, for good or ill. Gods don't create religions (whether they exist or not), man creates religion in response to what they perceive to be gods.
Sounds like you think a young girl seeking out any form of control or personal autonomy is Satanic.
Of course this guy completely ignores that many male Wiccans exist, and that Wicca has a God as well as a Goddess.
Better not tell him about skyclad worship. He might have a heart attack.
I have very little contact with Wicca where I am in Jersey, but one of the guys at my friend's (now defunct) hobby shop had a Wiccan girlfriend. She did one thing that I'll always remember. One thing that brings Christianity into sharp contrast.
She would ask if it was okay to cast spells on my behalf and she would not be offended if I said, "no thanks."
Compare that to the evangelicals that say "I'll pray for you!!!" because praying makes them feel better about themselves . They have no consideration for the person they're praying for .
Wicca is stupid and made-up, but I'd rather girls be Wiccans than be trapped in a stupid fundie cult like you believe in.
@Don
It was made up by a random British guy in the 20th century based on his utterly bastardised versions of authentic pagan traditions filtered through centuries of folklore.
Why not give women real power, equal power with men?
Then they wouldn't have to resort to fake power, like starving themselves to death.
I take made-up neo-pagan religion over made-up patriarchal moon-god religion any day.
Confused?
