It goes like this: Jesus went to the pool at Bethesda and saw a paralytic who’d been laying by the pool for 30 years Jesus asked him, “Do you want to be healed?” Rather than answer, the man made all kinds of excuses. Finally, Jesus healed the man against the man’s will when he said, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk!” The man was a freeloader, an economic parasite, a taker. He’d grown comfortable wallowing in his laziness and misery. Jesus wasn’t standing for any of that garbage. In fact, Jesus warned him to stop sinning through laziness or “something even worse may happen to you.” In fact, the now-former paralytic was angry that Jesus did that. That’s natural, of course. Jesus took away his source of income. He had no choice but to work now.

Likewise, we need to turn off the Social Security disability tap for the freeloaders. Force it to end. Cut it off. Sure, there are going to be a lot of angry people, just like the paralytic was angry with Jesus. I’m sure the liberals, Democrats, lawyers, and the countless other persons and organizations that gain their livelihoods from the current mess will lead the dissent and muddy the waters with false claims and propaganda. It won’t change the truth, and the truth is that half-way solutions won’t cut it. Otherwise, something worse it going to happen to us, and we know what that “worse” is: national economic bankruptcy. The numbers don’t lie. We’re almost there.

This leads us to the second strong action we must take. We must ultimately phase out Social Security retirement altogether.
