If the men are going to wear a woman’s cover to streamline uniform regs, they should also wear the women’s dress officer skirt. I’m sure they are cheaper to make.
True unisex uniformity.
Oh, and the women’s high heal shoes, too.
That will help accomplish obama’s goals of totally feminizing the Corps. I mean Corpse.

Oh, and the women’s high heal shoes, too.
That won't happen, sweetheart. Or, at least, I hope it doesn't. Unisex clothes, for any reason, to this extend, shouldn't be higher on any normal army's priority list than maximum combat effectiveness and high heel shoes are not very combat-effective. Not to mention that they're not really uni-sex since they're obviously women's footwear, at least today.
The new USMC cover proposal is based on the French kepi. You know, like the Kepi Blanc that soldiers of La Legion Etrangere wear? Go ahead, tell a Legionnaire that his kepi makes him look like a woman and see what happens.
High heals? Do they heal those who walk in them? By all means, send high heals over there, and keep the heels out. We don't need ass goblins like you thinking they're better because they're tallerish.
Only a freeper could write this huge BS...
Still, I was wondering about this high heal shoe. Some sort of faith healing device?
Wearing a skirt feminizes you?

And though they're not practical for combat, you might want to find out why stilettos are so called.
@anothga:
While I reckon that RWA will throw a fit at the idea, I do think certain armed units have standardized uniform trousers as part of their ceremonial uniforms, regardless of gender. High heeled shoes are rarely if at all seen on parade for obvious reasons.
I fail to see why this would even have been an issue the cover in question is based on the French kepi and doesn’t look out of place. Had the cover been instead a round hat (as with the Singapore Police Force’s women’s attire) there’d be reason to complain.
"Oh, and the women’s high heal shoes, too. "
Magic shoes that with high healing capabilities? Obviously everyone should wear them.
Ok, what the hell. We'll take it as given that you are correct about the cover.
Please explain exactly how it will affect the Marine Corps ability to perform their duties. Are the hats magic now? Perhaps we should be sending these magic hats to our enemies. If we can get them to wear the magic hats, we won't even need to send the Marines into combat ever again. We'll just load up B-52s with magic hats and carpet bomb the enemy to make them surrender.
So you have fantasies about beefy solider men in skirts and high heels.
That doesn't concern me, but are you sure that's something you want to admit on a public forum?
Ok, I get your line of reasoning. From now on, all Texans must wear calico sunbonnets instead of Stetsons, because they're cheaper to make, and more effective in keeping sun off your neck and out of your eyes.

Your call.
Given that men have worn the equivalent of skirts for millenia and that some cultures still wear them, we are actually the anomaly by wearing pants. As for military gear, the most important thing is giving an advantage in battle. If women's shoes healed those that wore them then I say break out the women's shoes. Hell, if pink tutus somehow gave you an advantage in combat I'd be the first to wear one. I'd rather be a "girly" soldier than a dead soldier.
The reason for the proposed change was that the supplier was going bankrupt and the Marine Corps leadership believed they might be able to save money if they only had one cover design for men and women. Their committee on uniforms thought it might be a good idea to go back to a design utilized in the 1920s worn by this gentleman:

Oh and if you're observant that "feminized" man has 2 Congressional Medals of Honor.
Men and women have different-shaped hips, and men are often taller and more muscular than women. But otherwise we are more alike than we are different.
If women can wear trousers, men ought to be able to wear skirts, if they want to. The whole point is that everyone should wear whatever clothing he or she wants to.
The most ferocious animal in Nature is a female guarding her young. RWA, don't you ever try to get between a female bear and her cub. You'll be dead for sure. That's what feminizing is all about.
My mother was slightly afraid of the dark when she was young. After she had us kids, she was all "Don't you DARE threaten any of my children!" and her fear of darkness was all gone.
Check out the Israeli Defense Force, or whatever it's called. They have true National Service, for EVERYONE, men AND women. It's one of the most bad-ass armies in the world. They attack and arrest Palestinian women and children on a daily basis.
If the men are going to wear a woman’s cover
Oh Jesus, who gives a fuck, really?
Btw, they're talking about the hat, oh excuse me: "cover", here on the left:

That reminds me a lot of a fireman's dress hat:

I think the last thing I'm going to do is walk up to a fireman and tell him his hat makes him look "girly".
I bet if the Marine Corps had been wearing that hat for a few decades and wanted to change to the hat they have now, the conservatives would go just as batshit about it, calling it "Russian" or whatever. Geeze, get a life.
Now Russia, they know how to make a female hat for the uniform:

Load and fire, men, load and fire. ;-)
Women have had to wear menswear-style clothes to look like men in all kinds of uniforms. Police, military, even high school marching bands (have to tuck your hair into the hat!), you name it. They're unflattering and uncomfortable. Feminizing things rather than masculinizing them might not be the end of the world.
Confused?
