A tragic day for Israel. I hope you’re right concerning the power-grab being too early and stoppable. I hope this turns out like Trump’s attempt to turn the USA Fascist. Maybe this will wake up the Progressive Israelis and make them serious about voting and changing things for once.
If the worst happens, perhaps that’s karma for all their brutal persecution of the Palestinians. Sure, both sides have their idiots and it’s one big shade of grey but much of this mess in the Mid-East wouldn’t be a thing if the Israelis simply counted Palestinians as one of their own, fellow citizens and equals, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
But nooooo… The Israelis wanted a strictly Jewish ethnostate and saw the Palestinians as the “New Canaanites”. This in turn added fuel to a bunch of wars, IslamoFascism and other B.S.
Palestinians only got into IslamoFascism in response to the Israelis’ mistreatment of them. The Israelis were horrible to them yet the Israelis were a modern, open, moderate society that was fine with personal freedom, pop-culture, relative gender equality, etc. Thus the IslamoFascist leaders took advantage of the situation and sucked a bunch of Palestinians in.
Cue decades of an unending cycle of revenge between these two, a good Israeli PM who was likely to end the whole mess getting himself assassinated by a JudeoFascist freak and the Israeli Progressives going *DERP* and not bothering to organize effectively nor vote like crazy!
Instead of this Zionism crap, the world should have just simply worked on fighting Judeophobia so Israel as a literal country wouldn’t even need to be a thing. If Jews want a “New Israel” they need to think in non-literal religious ways! “Israel” and “Zion” as a state of being! The only way Abrahamic religion would retain validity is if they reject literalism and embrace the Spirit rather than the Letter!
It isn’t about physical lands or physical Super-Messiahs! Prophecies work in weird ways and turn out in ways unexpected! Just chillax and live your life!
I swear, someone needs to teach Weapons manufacturers how to make and sell other stuff not related to “KABOOM!” so we wouldn’t have all this Military-Industrial Complex nonsense… which is the true reason for the above.
Likewise, teach Big Fossil to embrace Green Energy and Big Lumber to embrace bamboo and hemp! JOIN THE 21ST CENTURY, BUSINESS TYCOONS!
Big Fossil, Big Lumber and Big Kaboom are the root of al that is wrong with the world, have them transition to selling other things would alleviate a lot of the world’s problems.
