I disagree with Maimonides that [Leviticus] allows battlefield rape (as opposed to forced marriage of captive women, which it clearly allows), but if I were convinced that it did, I would say battlefield rape was good, yes.

I agree with Maimonides that my intuitions may disagree with God's Law, but that puts my intuitions in the wrong, not God's Law.

Compelled marriage isn’t exactly dissimilar to serial rape, mind.

Besides, Numbers 27:1-11 shows a case of El altering his law when shown that it wasn’t actually just. So no claiming it’s sacrosanct just for being divinely charted.

That makes you nothing but a rape apologist, no matter how you try to defend it verbally, just because of what the Bible says. And forced marriage is a form of rape, because there’s no consent, which is what wedding vows are really about.

I prefer the UN Security Council’s definition that “rape and other forms of sexual violence can constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, or a constitutive act with respect to genocide.” What I find shocking is that it took them until 2008.

This is the problem with holding religious writings superior to human laws: it ends up violating human rights in obedience to a fantasy.

Normalizing war crimes, crimes against humanity, rape and genocide ideology, using old war propaganda, claiming that it somehow would be "God's word" or "God's Law". Show evidence for your God's existence and evidence that those texts were really his word, rather than the propaganda of ancient humans, then we'll see. Using false promises to justify evil is unacceptable. Even if you found evidence that an old people used a particular law code, these are not static, have never been and have evolved, for good reasons. They need to adapt to the challenges of specific societies and times. Not to be weaponized for an incel's fantasy.

Once again, we can see that absolute, unquestionable and blind obedience can produce atrocities and beget horrors.

It is abhorrent to moral intuition, that is true. But here, as so often, I see not the signature of a transcendent intellect operating on Big Pictures far beyond our meagre imagination, but the agenda of all too mortal evil, fabricating a divine mandate for abuses of power and worldly political goals - in this case, securing the loyalty of the warrior caste by sanctioning atrocities against the enemy.
