You do realize in some states the age of consent is 16. I happen to live in one of those states.
If by "shockingly high number of homosexuals admit to sexual contact with minors," you mean "both were around the same age and at least one partner wasn't 18," then you can have a bit of truth to that statement, but then you'll be calling a lot of heterosexuals sexual deviants too. If you meant the dead horse trope of full grown gay men grooming and converting little kids or tweens, then good news! You can start using things like asbestos, lead paint, and DDT again too, and do away with seatbelts and airbags, since research from before the 70's are so much more accurate in your life!

I think I did read about the age for a girl to be married off being lowered in some Islamic nation. However, the less religious and less gay-phobic a country is, the higher the age of consent is apt to be. Do the research. There isn't any "worldwide campaign to lower the legal age of consent."

The only "research" I've ever seen that came to that conclusion simply looked at the sex of the victim and assumed that if it was a boy, the pedophile must have been gay. Studies of pedophiles themselves found that is nonsense; few men who molested boys were homosexual in their adult sex preferences. Most were either heterosexual or felt no sexual attraction to adults of either sex.
In other words, they're Kid-a-sexual.
