As the Great Bill Hicks said (and I mentioned yesterday),
"Here's what causes sexual thoughts. You ready? ... Having a dick. [beat] Or if you're a woman, having, you know."
--Bill Hicks, "Relentless"
"But dang, we're gonna curl our hair and plaster these frozen smiles on our faces".
You may have pretended not to notice, but with the emphasis upon fecundity in your family, it's not easy for the kids to miss the fact that mom and dad are at it like rabbits.
Self-control is good, of course, for both men AND women, as a woman's physical drives are ALSO excited by what she sees, so it's defrauding for a man to wear clothing that accents his body, instead of bringing attention to his countenance.
Was that what happened to Josh Duggar; his younger sisters dressed to accent their bodies? What about HIS self-control?
Shows again that when it comes to sex people like the Duggars don't put very much, if any, emphasis on male self control.
Instead, they think that if you're a boy/man, you shouldn't HAVE to control yourself; it's the *sole* responibility of girls/women to make sure you don't get aroused in the first place.
So you kept your girls dressed modestly and yet your son still molested them. But of course, to this day, no one in your little fucked-up circle expects him to be held accountable for it. It's all the girls fault for "defrauding" him.
I remember watching an episode one time, where the girls were talking about why they all wear their hair long and curly like that. The reason? Because their DAD likes it that way. That was the second creepiest thing I'd ever seen on TV. The creepiest was on Toddlers and Tiaras, where that little girl shaved an old man's treasure trail. TLC has a lot to answer for in the world of child welfare.
Doesn't the fact that your teachings failed, as shown by the recent revelations concerning one of your children, tell you something?
Modesty doesn't stop rape and, even if it did, the focus should still be on the culprits that have the ability to control their own thoughts and actions, not the victim who has suffered greatly because of someone else.
defraud (v.t.):
to deprive of a right, money, or property by fraud
Looks like instead of the Merriam-Webster dictionary, these Duggars used the Stewart-Comfort-Cameron-Ham-Hovind dictionary.
@Scratch
Oh he wanted to but his lawyers advised against that "doesn't really fly in the secular world" they said.
Hasn't stopped the Fundamentalist preachers from going right the Hell there though, I've read at least 6 such apologists things already and over twenty blaming the secular media that Josh was supposed to have been not exposed to under Quiverfull policy.
They always do this:
We shun the worldly things, we live for God and the church and our hearts are pure.
When caught up to some shit:
The secular filth corrupted me, the media and society bombarded me with temptation.
LIARS!
@LDM
The connections have been exposed, Discovery then TLC became Uber-Christian, fantasy, fearmongering and American Exceptionalism over a short period after both becoming property of a fundamentalist Christian.
He's apparently even OK with Aliens, Mythological creatures or urban legends if he can tie it into Christian Scripture, much like the Bible belts merging of everything fictional into their dogma.
I'm glad these shows are crashing due to the exposure of fundamentalist mental illness but it sad that this shit ever got so far. Tip of thousands of fucking icebergs here.
'Cuz there ain't nuthin' sexier than groping your 7 year old sister when she's asleep!
Jesus fucking christ these people are utterly, irredeemably useless. Take them all out into the backyard & bury them in a huge pit, then cover it with concrete.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
