God does not want dimwits, He does want you to "study to show thyself approved unto God". Your problem is you want to be able to explain everything, and that my friend is impossible. What the holy hell are you trying to say? God doesn't want us to be stupid, or we are stupid no matter what we do? (I suppose, that's not a contradiction to a fundy, any more than a loving god sending 99% of the the human race to eternal torture).

Of course it's impossible to explain or understand everything. Surely, such a truism need not even be spoken.
But the ability of humans to use their brains to try and comprehend the cosmos at large, though they may never fully succeed, and though it may take them thousands of years, and still there is more to learn, it is a human quality that those who enjoy using their highly-evolved brains can't help but do.
