I truly agree! People decide where they want to live, and if they decide they want to live in an over crowed city, that is there own fault.

I think I should mention the context of this quote. "Sparkle" uses this to "debunk" the fact of overpopulation. He replies on a typical yokel argument: "Overpopulation is a myth. Try driving from California to New York. What do you see? Mostly nothing."
And this makes him (and the original poster to whom he agrees) truly fundie. Overpopulation is not only about crowded cities, but for a good part about the unbearable strain on the very limited resources and energy available on earth.
Caw! Caw!
Plus, Twinkie, people may have to live where they can make a living. And sometimes the jobs are in the cities, because the company needs lots of workers. Yes, I know, everyone you've ever met lives on a farm, but trust me, there are actually real people that make your car and tractor and TV and computer and shoes and . . . .
@Anon2
Overuse of the land (to meet the demands of the over crowded cities is a bigger thing than people think.
Here in clean green new zealand that is pretty much farms and forests outside the cities, the rivers are no longer safe to swim in because of all the run-off from the dairy farms.
And more relavant to the original poster, there are no jobs in the fucking country!!! Without jobs people can't afford to live anywhere really for very long.
Hey, there a lot of naïve people like this, musta got a great inheritance.
The other one I hate is "If you don't like you job, why don't you quit?" where I have to explain to spoiled brats that most people don't like their jobs and would quit if able.
Confused?
