Actually, I don't know about the death penalty. I'm against it as it is barbaric and innocents will die, yet it seems a bit hypocritical to be against the death penalty while being a strong supporter of the Holy Inquisition. So I don't know.
But ungodly secular democracies such as Sweden, Germany or the USA shouldn't have the right to kill anyone. Only God and his loyal subjects should have the right to execute people.

As I recall, the sixth commandment reads 'Thou shalt not kill' not 'Thou shalt not kill, except...'
And Sweden and Germany don't have the right to kill anyone, neither country has had the death penalty for decades.
So, only you can decide who is worthy of life and who must die?
Christianity: the power to control the world. No wonder so many idiots fall for it.
I highly doubt it's a poe.
These people are completely deranged enough to believe that if a 'holy man' says God told them someone is guilty, they're guilty and should suffer torture.
"Only God and his loyal subjects should have the right to execute people."
This power wouldn't ever be abused, right?
Right?
Did anyone else just flash to when the handmaids tore the 'infidel' to pieces with their bare hands?
FYI Sweden and Germany don't have the death penalty. In fact the US is the only one of the first world nations that practices the death penalty.
So it's wrong to kill people for committing actual CRIMES, but it's right to kill people because they don't believe the same things you do?
Also: Am I the only one who pronounces this guy's name as "Sushi-anus?"
Christian Mafia?
Fuck off.
It's an old, yet simple, equation.
Kill what you hate. Hate what you fear. Fear what you don't understand.
Unfortunately fundies rarely understand much of anything, which is exactly why theocracy must be avoided at all costs.
Under current laws, imaginary creatures have no rights. I am not aware that anyone of the current crop of dictators has proclaimed himself divine.
I believe that some of the more enlightened secular democracies have proclaimed that no one has the right to execute people.
"In fact the US is the only one of the first world nations that practices the death penalty."
Depending on definitions, Japan also counts as a developed nation with capital punishment. And they're ungodly! (Well, except for all the Shinto gods. And the Christian God worshipped by a Christian minority, but that didn't stop the Albigensian Crusade.)
So I guess I'm saying Suecianus should totally lead a Crusade against Japan. By himself. Waving a sword and everything.
"strong supporter of the Holy Inquisition"
Um...that's over. I mean, really...that's been done for a WHILE.
I don't get it. He realizes that the death penalty is barbaric and innocents would die. But he can't be against it because...he supports the Holy Inquisition, and he doesn't want to be hypocritical.
Isn't that basically admitting that the Holy Inquisition is barbaric?
Oh, I forgot. God's standards, not ours. Right. :|
Paragraph 1: Execution is barbaric.
Paragraph 2: God and his minions want to execute people.
Logical implication: God and his minions are barbaric.
Why do you morons find this so difficult to grasp??
How about we just cut out the middle man and let god execute the people he doesn't like?
Suecianus doesn't seem to have any faith at all in the power of his god if he thinks that gods loyal subjects need to intervene.
Yeah, You guys making the decisions again, because that has always worked well. The Inquisition was proof of religious barbarism and the only good it did was eventually convinced kingdoms to push remove the power from the church
What is his Archassholiness Suecianus on about now?
Who are these 'loyal subjects'? The Holy Inquisition?
Suecianus, Tu idem es stultissime!
Someone's been having too much fun with the time machine.
OUR CHIEF WEAPON IS SURPRISE, SURPRISE AND FEAR-TWO WEAPONS...
I've never been more proud to be a swede.
We ARE an ungodly, secular democracy, and boy am I happy about that!
I would hate to live in a country that's godly, religious and dictator-ruled, where you can stone a person for gathering wood on a Sunday, but apparently that's this guys dreamworld.
"But ungodly secular democracies such as Sweden, Germany or the USA shouldn't have the right to kill anyone. Only God and his loyal subjects should have the right to execute people."
Translation: "The government shouldn't be conducting the death penalty, but I should be able to kill people for personal reasons that are nonsensical to anyone else".
Neither Sweden nor Germany, nor any other country in the EU, has the death penalty, silly. That's one of the requirements for entering, and why Turkey won't be allowed to join in the near future.
You do know that Germany is led by the Christian Democratic Union party, right?
"But ungodly secular democracies such as Sweden, Germany or the USA shouldn't have the right to kill anyone. Only God and his loyal subjects should have the right to execute people."
In Soviet Germany...:

...loyal people of the Bundeswehr have the right to execute God. [/Judges 1:19] >:D
