Funny you should mention "gun deaths per 100,000 people", for I have the FBI homicide stats, right here (not all of these have been gun-related; in fact, the most common murder weapon has been a baseball bat):

The last time gun deaths were as low as they currently are in the USA, my mother was still in elementary school.
