" "Marriage" is indeed an important historical development describing the union of a man and a woman - and it is self evident that for the general health of society it must be kept that way. However, the concept of "civil unions" is a viable one as it promotes personal responsibility. In the end, the probable scientific reality is that homosexuality (no matter how desperately one tries to put a positive spin on it) is most likely a neurologically based biological anomaly our society must accept until it it is one day more fully understood. More than likely it will eventually be corrected in the womb - probably by genetic methods - just as a tendency toward diabetes or heart disease or cancer will be. "

Wait, I saw this movie once, something about people being born different and others trying to force them to be normal, like one that was so ashamed at being different that he cut his own wings off... oh, wait, I'm thinking XMEN.
Every day I die a little more inside...
You know what, if you have to sing yourself this little lullaby in order to 'accept' it, go ahead, but please keep your mouth shut so at least you don't pollute anyone else's mind.
So tragic that your opinion seems to be the majority.
Are you kidding? This is fundie as shit.
I wonder if they're also going to 'correct' us left-handers, and 'coloreds', and those of us with too much imagination, and the ones with the 'wrong' color eyes...
Eugenics anyone?
1. The geyh shouldn't marry
2. It's a abomination genetic anomaly
3. In the future it can possibly be cured along with diabetes, heart disease and cancer
Conclusion:
People with heart problems, cancer or diabetes shouldn't be able to marry. And Gawd shall pwn thee
That last part sounds an awful lot like Gattaca. And there is some evidence to suggest that perhaps homosexuality (or tendency for it) happens at certain developmental stages in the womb...
Does that mean there is anything wrong with it? Does that mean it ought to be exterminated? Hell no.
You know, I think we'll be putting our limited research resources on the cancer and diabetes bit.
You'll have to life with the gays a bit longer.
I wonder what other "problems" CS would like to fix in the womb. Actually, I'm surprised any fundamentalist would take this course of action as it is, in their language, too close to playing god.

Unlike heart disease, cancer or diabeter, being homosexual doesn't kill you.
Unless you find yourself alone in the company of some boozed-up fundie fucktards, that is!
It's really fucking homophobic, but not fundie. The sad thing is, scientifically, that could probably happen. I had a friend, and what a jackass he was, who read a lot about stuff like this. He was a homophobic tool as well.
I don't think it's fundie or homophobic and I'm gay (except for the first line, about man and woman union being self-evidently healthy for society). I don't see why anyone would have a problem with such "correction" unless it was somewhat unreliable and caused those that weren't "corrected" to be under even more persecution. After all, we're talking about modifying someone before they are born, not brainwashing them into being something they're not after they are.
It's a "neurologically based biological anomaly"? Was that intended as an insult? I'm just asking, because as an example someone being exeptionally intelligent sounds like something that could be called a "neurologically based biological anomaly".
In case you disagree, this is all "self evident".
Well, that's certainly one way to eradicate the persecution of homosexuals.
No homosexuals = no homophobia...brilliant!
Traditionally marriage was one man and as many women as he could get his hands on.
All marriages are civil unions, they may be performed by the clergy but must be licensed by the state
So what, by the way it's just peachy of you to accept us
I wouldn't hold my breath until there are no more gay people on the planet.........hmmmmm, on second thought....................
