Please.. they go to school where prayers aren't allowed and are taught they come from apes. This could explain their bad behavior, not to mention teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism. The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it. He makes sounds like they have a choice to believe in God or not but are they given a choice though when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with.

Jesus Christ, why did you send your kids to school in the Soviet Union?! What the hell were you thinking?! I mean, the expense of time travel commuting alone, my GAWDS! Oh, wait...
Funny, that doesn't sound like the public school I attended.
It is not the job of the school to teach any sort of religion or anything based on religious beliefs. Being public, it is there for the education of the public, all of the public, regardless of religious affiliation. No prayer? I've never known a school to ban it, they just don't make all students participate in it at any given time. Each student is allowed to pray silently any time they want.
You see, this is what separation of church and state is about and what the United States is about. You can do anything you damn well please based on your religion, but you cannot make others do what you believe, and they can't make you do what they believe. Public schools are supported by public taxes - all of the public.
You have a choice. If you don't like it, pay money to send your kid to a religious institution. Or keep the kid at home where you can make sure to teach it only what you find relevant.
Ain't America great? You can make a choice and do what you want. It's amazing how that works, eh?
I find it amusing that this person seems to think that teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs, etc. are lesser evils than atheism.
"I find it amusing that this person seems to think that teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs, etc. are lesser evils than atheism."
Yeah, no kidding eh? Murder is bad because it could lead to someone dog-earing their KJV bible.
One more time, oh cement headed one. We don't 'come from apes'. We have a common ancestor.
Common
Ancestor.
Got it yet?
As for teen pregnancies, the biggest numbers of teen pregnancies and STDs are in the Bible belt. Yeah, you guys are doing such a great job with that abstinence only crap.
"Please.. they go to school where prayers aren't allowed and are taught they come from apes. This could explain their bad behavior, not to mention teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism."
Yeah, cos this learnin' stuff'll do that every time, right?
"The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it. He makes sounds like they have a choice to believe in God or not but are they given a choice though when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with."
This from someone who obviously never got to go to school, judging by the spelling and grammar.
First, we do not "come from apes." We share a common ancestor. It really isn't so hard to understand.
"The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it..."
"when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with."
Where do you live? Because I'd like to move there... it sounds wonderful! (Also, you should move here to the Theocracy of Utah. You'd LOVE it.)
"Please.. they go to school where prayers aren't [...]"
I'm not aware of any.
"and are taught they come from apes."
Oh, you mean good schools. Gotcha.
"This could explain their bad behavior, not to mention teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism."
I see you're intimately familiar with the slippery slope fallacy.
"The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it."
Excuse me? Government funded schools are based on secularism you twit, not atheism.
"He makes sounds like they have a choice to believe in God or not but are they given a choice though when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with."
Schools are not anti-god you moron. They're either religious or secular. And our culture (the U.S. anyway which is what I assume you're talking about) is one of the most religious in the world.
"First, we do not "come from apes." We share a common ancestor. It really isn't so hard to understand. "
that common ancestor was an ape, and so are you. you're not helping anything by obscuring our lineage
Ape
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Hominoidea)
Apes are the members of the Hominoidea superfamily of primates, which includes humans. Under the current classification system there are two families of hominoids:
* the family Hylobatidae consists of 4 genera and 13 species of gibbons, including the Lar Gibbon and the Siamang, collectively known as the "lesser apes"
* the family Hominidae consisting of orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, and humans,[1][2] collectively known as the great apes.

Alfred! A fellow sufferer in Utah!
Yeah, didn't the whole "I'm going to miss class for seminary stuff" teach you all about atheism?
"My problems all started when I got into evolution in high school. From there it was all downhill. By the next term i'd fathered an illegitimate child, I was using heroin frequently, and I was part of a street gang that led to me shooting three people. But the point when I knew i'd really hit rock bottom was when I turned to atheism."
Shut up...
Just shut up.
Prayers come from apes?
For a minute there I thought he might be giving an explanation for why the transformer's planet was destoryed, but when i re read it i saw the came from apes thing. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed to hear that strawman.
But on the plus side, his name is sharkicon. It's clever. The first part comes from shark and the second part is from the popular franchise transformers.
So wait...teen pregnancy, drug use, and gangs are all indicative of atheism, now? This is news to me, seeing as how we are not ones keeping kids ignorant of contraception use, not the ones who try to ban drugs and sex, thus making them more appealing to the young 'uns, and we are not the ones who advocate violence in solving any dispute between groups...
To be honest, teen pregnancy, drug use, and gangs are not really at odds with a Christian lifestyle at all...
Please.. they go to school where prayers aren't allowed and are taught they come from apes.
Prayer is allowed...teacher led prayer is not. Kid wants to pray before a test? Go nuts! Others don't, and as such, a teacher, and the school should respect that, too. Unless you want your kid learning Islamic prayers and the Wiccan rede too. If one religion must be recognized, all should too.
This could explain their bad behavior, not to mention teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism.
Because good Christian kids never misbehave, never have to be sent to Aunt Hattie's place for a mysterious 9 month period, never ever take drugs, or participate in that ungodly Mob Mentality, eh?
The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it.
SECULAR. Not saying there is no God, saying they're not taking a stance on God.
He makes sounds like they have a choice to believe in God or not but are they given a choice though when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with.
You want your kids to learn about God? TEACH THEM YOURSELF! Take them to Church. Send them to Sunday School. They don't have to believe a thing that is taught at school. They just have to know and comprehend the premise, nothing more, and nothing less. But do not force your church and your religion onto OUR children.
"Please.. they go to school where prayers aren't allowed"
You're allowed to pray to yourself.
"and are taught they come from apes."
You don't understand evolution, do you?
"This could explain their bad behavior, not to mention teen pregnancies"
Teen pregnancies come from teaching abstinance instead of safe sex, which is what YOUR lot does.
"drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism"
And watching cartoons leads to living on Mars.
"The whole school system is based on atheism so why shouldn' they know it exist since they already live it. He makes sounds like they have a choice to believe in God or not but are they given a choice though when your school system and culture is so anti god to became with."
Dumb. Ass.
@Frank: "But on the plus side, his name is sharkicon. It's clever. The first part comes from shark and the second part is from the popular franchise transformers."
Not all that clever, really. It's a misspelling of "Sharkticon," which was an actual character in the original Transformers (animated) movie and season three of the Generation 1 series.
Also, a new character with that name appeared in the more recent Transformers: Energon series.
(Is my inner-nerd showing? *blush*)
Who's responsible for this myth that prayers aren't allowed in school? They can pray their empty little fucking heads off all the like, but the teacher can't lead classroom prayer, and the administrators can't require it either. How that equals to "ZOMG NO PR4YR3Z!!!1111 LAWL" I'll never know.
Kids can pray in their own time at school if they WISH. Schools just don't force kids to do it, which is good. And if schools were so 'anti-God' as you claim, they would have taken 'under God' out of the Pledge of Allegiance by now.
Of course it has nothing to do with fundie kids not given tools to exist in society. So when the hormones start to run wild, so do the kids.
Always seems that the religious kids are the ones that go fall fast and hard as teenagers.
@esrz22
I don't know. Drive by prophesiers, seem to be rather popular. Guess they want to spread their bullshit, but are afraid that you might give a rational argument against them. It might cause a brain cell to switch on and damn them to hell.
LEARN SUBJECT-VERB AGREEMENT, YOU IDIOT!
(Never has the caps lock of truth been used more wisely than now. This guy shouldn't criticize education when he has never experienced it.)
big baby jesus:
Actually, I'm a cat.
...teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff...
Actually, alot of that has little to do with the schools and almost everything to do with the parents. For example, a teen girl might not feel loved at home so she'll have sex to feel loved.
Also, how would you like it if the school systems made government enforced prayer to Allah or Buddah. Yeah, thats what I thought.
@Antichrist: But, this isn't the usual religious preaching. What I refer to are really random, sometimes incomprehensible, questions about Transformers (mainly).
I find it ironic that an anti-evolution Fundie, who is almost certainly a Young Earth Creationist, is posting to a Transformers website.
Doesn't the Transformers universe posit a 9-million-year-long war between the Autobots and the Decepticons? That's, like, over a thousand times older than the universe, according to the Book of Genesis.
Strawman. Strawman. Conjecture. Lies. Strawman. Blatant lie. Strawman.
And that isn't counting the parts that were just mindless ranting that had no relation to the English language that I could decipher.
tracer: We've actually got a couple of fundies over on the Allspark. Yes, TF is set up to preclude the literal interpretation of the Bible. Hell, some continuities have a literal, physical God for the Transformers (Primus). But, apparently these fundies can recognize some fiction.
not to mention teen pregnancies, drugs, gangs and all other stuff which could lead them to atheism.
Teen pregnancies, drugs and gangs lead to atheism?
Guess what? Religion does not solve those problems.
"New Study Reveals that Religion Does Not Lead to a Healthier Society
In this article, we report the results of a study examining the relationship between a nation’s religiosity and its “moral health.” The received wisdom would lead one to predict a positive correlation between national religiosity and national moral health as one goes up the other goes up.
In fact, that appears not to be the case, and the example of the United States is most striking; Americans are among the most religious people in the Western world, and yet we have among the highest rates of homicide, abortion, and teen pregnancies.
To the extent that these measures are related to something that might be called “national moral health,” the intuitive thesis that links religiosity to morality would seem to be gainsaid."
"'The United States is almost always the most dysfunctional of the developed democracies, sometimes spectacularly so, and almost always scores poorly.' This deviates immensely from what most Americans consider to be common wisdom: that religion is beneficial."
