Um, excuse me, but you people aren't even in control your own thoughts. You allow "the devil" to take over your minds all the time. It's an evil known as Fundyism and it turns normally sane (and apparently, weak-minded) individuals into raving lunatics.

When you aren't in control of your mind, that indicates psychosis. The condition is medically treatable, although psycotics are usually resistant to the notion that they are in need of treatment. The devil is a handy scapegoat for the phenomenon....
That being said, I agree that the things you mention tend to exacerbate psychotic behavior. I would add things like tarot cards and bibles to the list, myself.

I was not being sarcastic, but HE was. Dungeons and Dragons is a gateway game, if you will. Most probably play the game for fun, but for some, the Devil is really playing them.

Isn't it amazing how, in Fundyland, the demons have so much more power than god? I mean, sure, you can read in the buy-bull about god hardening pharoah's heart, or sending a "spirit of deception" to confuse people, but it seems that here lately (past few thousand years or so) he's gotten out of the mind-control business altogether and turned that over to the competition.
Let's just say, if god were a commodity traded on the NYSE, I wouldn't put any of my money on it.

Also, I don't believe he knows what hypnotism is. It is a common (if completely understandable) assumption that it involves a guy in a turban swinging a watch in front of you.
