["I might have induced an abortion when I was 11, a boy a lot older than me had forced me into having sex with him. I noticed my period was really late and started to panic. I read online that hitting your stomach would stop pregnancy, so I did it. I got my period a few days after. Do you think I was pregnant? If I was pregnant, I definitely wouldn't have kept it, I'd been forcing myself to forget about that boy, and at 11 I wouldn't have coped."]
Hitting yourself in the abdomen to kill your child is no different than beating a newborn that you do not want. If you were pregnant and your child died as a result, then you literally beat your child to death. Fortunately for you, our world is morally bankrupt and the law is on your side. Mothers are free to kill their unborn children however they please. This includes beating them to death through their abdominal walls, swallowing pills that will suffocate and expel them, and having them ripped to pieces by an abortionist. There really are no limits to the depraved abuse you can heap on an unborn child. There are no child abuse laws on the books to protect these children from their mothers, just as there are no laws on the books to protect their very lives.

Childbirth could easily be fatal in a child of 11, not to mention emotionally damaging, especially if she was raped. Proving once again that you don't give a damn about children, just controlling and punishing females.
So a child possibly dying to bring another one into the world is a-ok with this gal/fella, then? Fucking hell. Odds are she probably wasn't even pregnant...there are multitudes of reasons a period can be late or skipped, and pregnancy's just one of them.
Poor girl. At that age, periods are usually irregular anyway, and trauma (like being raped) can mess with your cycle. I doubt she was pregnant, a miscarriage would have cause a lot of bleeding and pain, not just a regular period. She may have injured herself over nothing.
All the more reason why sex ed is needed.
After a few days of pregnancy there's no way the fetus would be big enough to really be affected by punching like that. It would be like trying to clear a blocked capillary by punching it. It's not even the size of a poppy seed until 4 weeks.
So in addition to the appalling treatment of the woman in question, there's the utter ignorance of biology shown by the belief that this would work. If she was pregnant and miscarried, there's no way the punching had anything to do with it. More likely she just had a late period.
What a vile individual this is. A child was raped and all he/she/it can think about is the zygote rather than the victim. Think about the emotional damage that comment would do to the poor girl. Whatever your views are on abortion, priorities need to be questioned. You could have at least shown some sympathy for the actual person here. You disgust me.
My! Aren't you just the model of empathy, sympathy, humanity & solace....NOT!!!
A poor child is raped and all you care about is what might be growing inside of her. When you were born, the doctor probably slapped you & your parents!
Raped at 11 years old, self-injuring, terrified, traumatized, and vultureshit could care less.
I swear I am going to end up axe-crazy at this rate.
More proof these people are all about the fetuses rather than children. "Oh, you got pregnant at 11 because you were raped? Tough shit motherfucker, it's your DUTY to have a child. Fuck you if it's going to kill you - the fetuses are all that matter, not born children!"
Good grief. How about just saying nah, you weren't pregnant, your period was just late (which sounds like that was the case anyway), regardless of what you actually think.
This person is an idiot.
Only a girl raised in a fundie household would not call what happened to her rape, or never discuss the remote possibility of pregnancy with a gynecologist. As for "abortion," it's rare enough that a near-term fetus is killed with a blow to the stomach, let alone trying to "kill" a clump of cells.
You have no compassion or empathy for an 11 year old rape victim, then you guilt trip her by basically calling her a murderer, and you seem to think the "life" of a blastula (if she had actually been pregnant) is more important than hers.
I would say you are the one who is morally bankrupt.
@ LAchlan:
Unfortunately, post-partem abortions are not legal. Strangely, I don't get the feeling that cultureshift would object to them, in concept. Since the proposed subject has already been born, who gives a rat's ass? Right?
"I have a little list,
They never will be missed...."
@JeanP - cultureshift has stated on multiple occasions that he does not believe that abortion should be allowed, even in the case of rape, incest, or disease of the fetus. (He does support abortions for ectopic pregnancies and other situations where the pregnant person's life is at risk, but refuses to acknowledge that these procedures are, in fact, abortions.)
Okay, now this is ignorant and hateful. A large number of pregnancies end in very early miscarriage. In other words, a bit of unpredicted spotting on the panties, most of the time before the pregnancy was detected. Somewhere in there, there's a fertilized egg.
Now my question is this: do you mourn for that fertilized egg as if it were a baby dead in the cradle?
An eleven year old who was raped and may have become pregnant as a result is depraved? Does this shit-hole have no limits as to how horrible they can be? Do they not realize that a freaking eleven year old is a child? And, no, one can't beat a four week old pregnancy to death. That's fucking insane.
How the fuck would child abuse laws apply to an embryo? Every time a woman has a possible miscarriage she should be investigated for murder?
Pro-Life and Pro-Choice are issues completely separate from fundamentalism. Whilst fundamentalists usually side with Pro-Life, this is more in keeping with their generally conservative nature. Unless a Pro-Lifer is directly referring to scripture or outlandish religious principles, they do not belong on FSTDT.
Furthermore, if one accepts the Pro-Life belief that humanity and identity begin at conception, there is nothing misguided about any of this batch of Pro-Life quotes. They believe they are talking about saving a human life, of course they will be passionate about it. Of course they will go to significant measures to coerce people out of it. By their beliefs, they are stopping a murder; I would hope that anyone would be prepared to talk someone out of committing a murder.
I am Pro-Choice myself, but I understand the Pro-Life perspective. There is nothing remotely outrageous about any of these quotes when taken from an impartial or Pro-Life point of view.
@-H-
You see, the concept of a fundie differs from a fundamentalist . A fundamentalist is a variant of a fundie that hews blindly to religious doctrine, often to the detriment of himself or of others. We have secular fundie quotes here (eg. radfems, many MRAs, atheist fundies, SJWs, animal rights extremists, hard vegans, and people like Gene Ray who don't fit into a discrete category).
Know what?
Fuck off with your bullshit stories.
Thats what.
Nothing you people ever print ever happened except as a fictional idea in your very lame brains.
Here's the Atheist attitude. "I'm maybe pregnant, I've got to consider a doctors appointment, who the Republicans won't allow or talk to someone who's not a fundie nutjob thinking there's demons riding me."
Punching yourself or your boyfriend/daddy punching you in the stomach is IN FACT a long traditional practice in fundieland.
Try again BITCH.
a late period at 11 with a rape and the potential fetus only a few weeks old at most ?
unlikely the girl was pregnant.
cultureshift is badly misinformed.
@ -H- : Jesus Christ, I'd hope an impartial person would comprehend why these quotes are outrageous. This guy is fundie because he holds to his extreme anti-abortion beliefs without stopping to consider who it hurts or how they're harmful. Like in this instance that involves an eleven year old girl. This shill also spouts obvious lies and misinformation to support his beliefs. So, yeah...
Here we see someone attacking a rape victim because she didn't want to suffer the consequences of being raped...
This "person" does not deserve even the most basic level of respect you would give a life form...
@Deep Search
No, this person shows a similar disregard for pregnant women considering abortion as most people would show for a criminal in the act of committing an assault. In an assault case, we would side with the victim at the expense of the well-being of the criminal. This person believes they are preventing murders, if anything the response is tame from that point of view.
As for the 'obvious lies and misinformation', I don't see much in these posts. Sure, maybe not a complete picture of how first trimester abortions work, maybe rather callous phrasing, but all within a reasonable level of honesty and accuracy. The only difference is at what point humanity is bestowed upon the child - pro-life says at conception, pro-choice says at birth. Thats the very centre of this debate, that's what this is all about.
I've seen the lies and bullshit spread about the abortion issue, I've had to deal with some of it personally. Phony statistics, phony 'descriptions' of procedures, emotional blackmail and threats of being shunned by the community are all out there. This just isn't in that league.
@-H-
If he didn't sincerely believe it, would he be a fundie?
Also, I'm pretty sure much of this quote (in context, of course) qualifies as "emotional blackmail."
The world is indeed morally bankrupt if your problem here is irregular periods, and not the rape of a child, Shiftyculture.
A mother is a woman who has given birth to a child.
A child is a living breathing human being with a birthday.
It’s called “expecting a child” for a reason, dumbass; it’s NOT a child yet.
You can't suffocate something that doesn't breathe.
An embryo or a fetus in the first trimester (which is when the overwhelming majority of all abortions happen) is too small to be "ripped to pieces", really; it's only about 1,2 inches at the end of this period.
There are also no laws on the books to protect the sperms from their fathers, asshole, just as there are no laws on the books to protect their very lives!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
