I heard that mormons believed that Jesus came to america after his resurrection and that there were all these great cities in america, but there's no record of any of these cities ever being here.
Why would anyone believe something like that if there's no record of it accept for in their books? I don't get it, I dont wanna sound rude because I have mormons friends and theyre good people, but it just seems dumb to believe in something that history has no record of ever happening.

What a coincidence, I agree with you completely.
ROTFLOL.
Man this is too easy.
In a way she's right. But again, why is it less reasonable than, say, Sodom and Gomorrah?, which "records" is she using now?, which double standards?
"I heard that fundies believe God wiped everything out with a world-wide flood, but there's no record of any world-wide flood ever happening.

My irony meter didn't just explode, it met its antimatter version and left behind it a crater big enough to swallow Belgium.
The trouble with this kind of quote is that it's going to put satirists out of business. It would take a epic level of genius to make shit up that was [1] funnier, and [2] espoused on the surface more deranged thinking.
As opposed to The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.
Not every Mormon believes that. I've been one.
As for your second comment. Quite a few things in the bible haven't been provewn either.
I guess those in Teens-4-Christ graduate to the Rapture Ready forum.
This quote, in itself, is not fundy.
However, it is amusing when put in context with Esther's previous posts.
She later goes on to say this...
Did you watch that video? It showed hard evidence that the book of mormon cant be true. Is there any evidence that what happened in the bible isn't true? I dont think so! There cant be because its the word of God and God cant be wrong.
Id like to see whatever evidence people think they have that the bible isnt true.
Meh. Now do you see what we have to put up with when you fundies start talking crazy shit? It gets frustrating when you people refuse to see the light, doesn't it? But since you're a fundie, well.... it's highly doubtful you'll see it either since you've purposefully sealed your eyes shut with a bunch of word of gawd krazy glue.
'It gets frustrating when people refuse to see the light, doesn't it?'
Agh! Stupid, non-working edit button!
"Coming up at 11, we'll have tomorrow's weather and sports wrap-ups for the day. Plus, scientists are at a loss to explain the sudden, simultaneous explosion of every irony meter in the world. We'll talk to one prominent scientist who says he has a possible answer to this bizarre phenomenon. All this and more coming up on the 11 o'clock news... now back to the Simpsons."

I just spilled my coke when I read that! :-O
Everyone else already said it.
There is nothing to be said.
The idiocy speaks for itself.
"Because my meter just raped itself."
"My irony meter just sat straight up, gave me a good hard look and walked out my front door right into an oncoming bus."
"My irony meter didn't just explode, it met its antimatter version and left behind it a crater big enough to swallow Belgium."
I think this is a harbinger of the apocalypse.
Well, actually, Esther...
Know what? Forget it. This is far too easy.
"Why would anyone believe something like that if there's no record of it accept(sic) for in their books? ... but it just seems dumb to believe in something that history has no record of ever happening"
You are correct.
Now repeat 6th grade vocabulary.
@ Safaraz,
the irony is that the OP is oblivious to the irony.
BTW, people, the shunt on my irony meter is working just fine. Still got hot enough to melt the plastic, though.

I know that the KJV doesn't specifically mention America by name. Because there's no record of any nation outside those listed in the Bible. Because King James I was a British 17th Century monarch, and the USA as we know it didn't exist then.
So why would anyone believe that the USA is a Christian country, when the very basis of such - the Constitution - doesn't so much as have the words 'God', 'Jesus' or even 'Creator' specifically mentioned therein?
I have American friends and they're good people, but it just seems dumb to believe in something that the Bible has no record of ever existing.
If you fundies think that the actual ' Promised Land', the nation of Israel, is such a great idea, that's worth supporting, why don't you all just up sticks and move there? What's stopping you?!
...thought not. Destroyed argument, much?
I, I have no words, ...
wut ? doesnt do it for this.
Pardon me while I dig bits of my irony meter out of the wall.
But then the Bible IS the true history isn't it 8-)
Confused?
