I heard that mormons believed that Jesus came to america after his resurrection and that there were all these great cities in america, but there's no record of any of these cities ever being here. Why would anyone believe something like that if there's no record of it accept for in their books? I don't get it, I dont wanna sound rude because I have mormons friends and theyre good people, but it just seems dumb to believe in something that history has no record of ever happening.

I know that the KJV doesn't specifically mention America by name. Because there's no record of any nation outside those listed in the Bible. Because King James I was a British 17th Century monarch, and the USA as we know it didn't exist then.
So why would anyone believe that the USA is a Christian country, when the very basis of such - the Constitution - doesn't so much as have the words 'God', 'Jesus' or even 'Creator' specifically mentioned therein?
I have American friends and they're good people, but it just seems dumb to believe in something that the Bible has no record of ever existing.
