If one is 100% raw [eating raw foods] and the female body has purified itself enough, there is no need to menstruate.

Further, if you quit eating altogether your body will reach such a transcendent state of purity that your heart will free itself of its need to pump blood!
Yeah, in a couple of years this chick will score herself a Darwin Award.
So, are there any cultures that do a 100% raw food vegan diet like these people do? For all they talk about natural, I don't think it's very natural for humans.
And I always thought that ceassation of menses should only occur in two circumstances: pregnancy and post-menopause. Any other reason is an idication of poor health.
L101 also seems to have some sort of weird fear of going to the doctor.
I can't imagine that its healthy not to menstuate.
However, I'll just add that girlfriend Yahweh and another FSTDT moderator are vegans (not of the raw food type) and say they don't experience menstrual cramps as severely. Its not due to malnutrition, its seems to have something to do with the estrogen content of low-fat foods. See http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0820/is_2000_May/ai_61616825#continue
This really reminds me of that scene in Carrie where the mom finds out Carrie has had her first period and tells her that if she hadn't been a sinner she wouldn't have bled or something or other.
Either way, I'm all for a stave-off-menstruation thing. I'm so bad at remembering to take pills on time.
Wow, just ka-wow.
Uh my dear, menstruation is a perfectly NATURAL and HEALTHY and TOTALLY PURE THING.
I don't think humans were capable of being truly Healthy vegetarians until roughly around 300 years ago, when all the nutritional vegatable substitutes for meat were finally collected from all over the world.
I'm a low-carber myself, and I love my veggies:-)!I stay away from grains, and most processed foods.I eat lots of Berries and Kiwifruits MMMH!(Sprinkle some black pepper on them, delicious!)
Considering this was/is the "Natural" diet humans enjoyed until the Agricultural Era and it's subsequent malnurishment and creation of impoverishment and enrichment.
I think true Vegans are to be admired.
Lord knows, I gotta have my steak and lamb.I can do without the potato,Cauliflower with cheese tastes better anyways;-)

@ Last Conformist: Yes, I mean "natural" as "in accordance with the conditions we've evolved in for most of the last several million years." Someone very close to me has recently gotten suckered into the "Natural" Hygene/Raw Food quackery, so I've gotten to hear all sorts of weird claims. She looked much better and healthier when she was a more ordinary vegitarian.
To be a little clearer about my first statement, I thought that all human societies have been cooking food for millions of years, regardless of the amount of meat, eggs, and dairy consumed. Veganism is fine and healthy for those who can, it's just the 100% raw food part that I think is unnatural for our species.
I can say from experience that doing a raw vegan thing for 4-6 weeks once in a while can do something good for your health.
Long term, many of you have pointed out the results of such a lifestyle, and I'd suggest if anyone starts seeing those symptoms, add cheese or free range animal products like eggs or meat to your diet.
If by "purified itself enough" you mean "dropped below a minimum healthy body weight," you're right.
No fat, no menstruation, no babies. Lots of bone loss, hair loss, and premature aging though!

No. It's not possible - we need Vitamin B-12, which is only naturally available in animal products. You can get it as a supplement from bacterial cultures, but those have to be cooked before eating or you'd be in for some unpleasant infections.
With regards to the quote: this is some serious fail.
Menstruation can be reversibly suppressed for several years at a time, using hormonal contraceptives. This has been done for the last forty years or more.
Yup, when the female body has purified itself enough, so that only bones are left, there is no need to menstruate.
Confused?
