Donald Trump Says He Wants 'Ownership' of Greenland Because It's 'Psychologically Important for Me'

During a two-hour sit-down with multiple Times reporters on Jan. 7, Trump was questioned about why he won't just send more American troops to Greenland — which is legal under a Cold War–era agreement — if his goal is to fend off foreign threats. "Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success," Trump, 79, replied. "I think that ownership gives you a thing that you can’t do, whether you’re talking about a lease or a treaty. “Psychologically important for me," Trump answered. "Now, maybe another president would feel differently, but so far I’ve been right about everything."

Trump also told the Times that he isn’t opposed to using nuclear force if he “needed it” to take over the Arctic island but that “it might upset NATO," since the island is a self-governing territory of NATO member country Denmark.

We've constructed a kind of elaborate series of rules, theoretical rules designed to pretend that's not true and to mitigate it to some extent over the last eighty years.

But really, that's always been true and always will be true. But that's a pretty tough game once you write the rules, that if someone can take something because they want it, it's okay. You have to live with them. NATO will effectively be done. How can you have a defensive alliance when one member acts against another?

Probably can't. NATO was going out anyway. Is it really bad that NATO's going away? No. It's a huge victory for the world and for the United States, but it's gonna be tough for its many employees and for the entire infrastructure of foreign policy thinkers such as they are in Washington and Brussels and throughout Europe. They're going to have to face the reality that this is not a real thing anymore.

If NATO was real, then the US wouldn't have taken Greenland. So there's that, apparently a downside.

This liberal woman was willing to take on federal agents, to disrupt ICE operations, in order to protect criminal Somalis.

Obviously, she probably didn't imagine she would be killed. But surely, she must have known that, at the very least, she could be arrested.

I get to be consistent here and point to my previous longstanding positions that:
-BLM protesters should have been subdued at gunpoint, and if they resisted they should have been shot
-Ashli Babbit was rightfully killed
-Protesting is a disordered halfway house action meant as a show of force/practice army logistics/intimidation of government and others
-Its former use in "petitioning the government" only made sense in a world where communication was inefficient and it was difficult for groups to transmit their opinions to the whole nation
-Children should be educated in the difference between free speech (being able to say what you want without arrest or fines), and protest (turning up as an army to physically occupy an area)
-Sadly, liberals hundreds of years ago in all Western countries conflated protest with speech rights, and this has now seeped into people's brains to such a degree that they think banning protests is automatically a step to a tyranny with no input from the public, but it may take hundreds of years to undo.

Even so, this was a bad shoot, and really bad PR for ICE which already doesn't have great PR. This could escalate into a BLM 2020 style situation.

I love learning about astronomy. I have been watching hundreds of YouTube videos about astronomy. Sadly, unless you specifically include “God” in your search, you won't find Him in the videos. The vast majority of popular scientists are agnostics and atheists, who attribute the creation of the universe and all therein to natural occurrences and evolution.
Those are very wicked words, because the inspired Holy Bible already teaches us that God made the earth and the oceans, not nature. What an arrogant and untrue thing to say, claiming to know how many stars are in the universe!
