If, on judgement day, I'm standing beside people who supported freedom, integrity, and rights of other human beings out of empathy and understanding (whether they're homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, or transgender; atheist, Muslim, pagan, or even a Satanist), and upheld personal worth of individuals as a core value (as opposed to empty clumps of cells that are not people), it will not matter to me if a God who values slavering obedience, absolute control, and totalitarianism/repression of individual freedoms on a scale that would make Stalin take notes charges me with them as crimes. I'll know which side I belong on and, yes, it will work out just fine for me.
I will absolutely own that trip to Hell, because you see, as long as I'm not going where you and your poisonous holier-than-thou ilk are, it's not all bad. Better to burn in Hell knowing I tried to make the world a little better than acquiesce like a groveling slave to some invisible cosmic tyrant.
And as far as we know for certain, we all go to the same place: the earth, burned to ashes or eaten by time and worms. After two, possibly three generations, nobody will remember your name. Once your kids and grandkids are dead, nobody will think about you. You will effectively cease to exist. And yes, failing some transhumanist development of biological immortality, you are going to die. Literally every human who was born before the 20th century can attest to that.
So how about doing something more productive with your life than sitting around masturbating to your stupid revenge fantasies, huh? The world's too big and messed up and we're too short-lived for everyone to constantly live in fear of what some old, man-made book says. And if you aren't going to help us build bridges and houses, at least get off the cross. We could use the wood.
