"Anyone who really loves God doesn't go against His Word"
Good thing that I don't believe your God exists, and that I wouldn't love him if I believed he was real, then. Oh, and I love my friends, but if one of them was drunk and telling me to give him back his car keys I most definitely would not blindly obey him.
"(and God warns about homosexual behavior numerous times in Scripture)"
You say that as if your "Scriptures" had some inherent authority... And btw, modern, not-foaming-at-the-mouth-fundy scholars tend to consider that the scriptural passages you take as condemning homosexuality were misunderstood or mistranslated, sometimes wilfully so.
"Anyone who truly loves his neighbor would legislate righteous laws to protect them from this extremely harmful behavior known as homosexuality."
Uh, yeah, see, if homosexuality wasn't eradicated by medieval laws with barbaric punishments such as sawing the "sodomite" in two lengthwise, I seriously doubt any law would manage to do it. Then there is the little problem that for an "extremely harmful" behaviour, it seems to generate very little actual harm, so there is fuck all in the way of reasons to legislate against it
