Of-course religious people do bad things sometimes. But at least their religion forces them to acknowledge within themselves the evil they do. Atheists have no such guidance. They are just like psychopaths! Cold, mechanical, soul-dead!

"Of-course religious people do bad things sometimes."
Per capita, they do wrong things more often than atheists.
"But at least their religion forces them to acknowledge within themselves the evil they do."
Their religion tells them that they are forgiven for their misdeeds and do not have to take a substantial amount of personal responsibility for them.
"Atheists have no such guidance."
We require no guidence from imaginary friends.
"They are just like psychopaths!"
No, we are not psychopaths, but thanks for saying so.
"Cold, mechanical, soul-dead!"
No, I am not cold nor mechanical, and, until you prove that souls exist, you have no basis for claiming that my soul is dead.
Unless, of course, they're not cold, mechanial, soul-dead.
An examination of criminal profiles in the USA shows that being religious neither increases nor decreases the chances of committing a crime. In fact, seeing as how the population of the USA is overwhelmingly Christian...guess what the majority of criminals are...?
The slogan "not perfect, just forgiven" displays all the arrogance of people who consider themselves above the rules to which they hold everyone else.
Now tell me again how atheists are "like psychopaths" who don't care about right and wrong, and religious people "[are forced] to acknowledge within themselves the evil they do."
Freaking hypocrite.

"Of-course atheist people say untrue things sometimes. But at least their intelligence forces them to acknowledge within themselves the lie they speak. Fundies have no such guidance. They are just like psychopaths! Delusional, animalistic, braindead.
Fixed.
C'mon folks. This "they're all alike, and they're all how I've been told they are" is exactly what got Hitler the support he needed, and it's the underlying principle behind practically all forms of racism. You're not here to pit yourselves against the secular population! God didn't tell you to make enemies of your flock, he said your job was -- is to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all nations. This Westboro crap is only alienating the very souls you are here to save. Quit congratulating yourselves on how much holier you are and get back to work.
I'm studying to be a doctor so I can help people. I've worked as a counselor taking care of children. I try not to impose my views on others and I have nothing against religious people, but, oops I'm an athiest (A choice I came to after years of thinking it through) So I must be "cold, mechanical and soul dead" then ?
I charge that those of us who have morality without the threats of eternal punishment or reward are much better people than those who don't.
Then again we apprently don't HAVE morality because, you know, giving to charities, being a good friend, being honest, those kinds of things don't count for much when you're not an unwavering myrmidon.
Ermmm
Millions of killings in the name of God, and not one of those doing the killing thought this was wrong at the time
Athiests on the the other were crying out... but of course they were the ones getting killed
So tell me again, who were the empty souless evildoers again?
how do you know that psychopaths are Cold, mechanical, soul-dead? my local priest said he had a soul......
you do realise that comment screams "make fun of me!"?
unfortunately religious people can use their creed to validate, justify, and excuse their crimes - especially against GLBT people, since these commit abominable crimes that god hates
I'm not cold and mechanical (souls are an idea, not a fact) and neither are millions of other atheists
You get psychopaths with religions too
I have guidance...
The "devil" did not make me do it.
"God" is not going to "save" me.
I am RESPONSIBLE for my own actions and how my life turns out. I am my guidance. If people cant behave well for the sake of humanity, whats the point? I do not need your "god" to force me to acknowledge when I screw things up. It is called responsibility, not religion.
Atheists have no such guidance.
Ahteists believe that the thigs they do are their own fault, not the devils, and that god is not going to save them from everything.
They are just like psychopaths! Cold, mechanical, soul-dead!
Abraham was willing to murder his only son because "god told him to", you believe this, and then you turn around and call athiest "cold, mechanical, psychopaths."
every time I read one or these I die a little inside. I really wish everyone could understand more about each other. Not all religious people are like that and I have yet to meet and atheist who was as horrable as they're made out to be. Honestly, children, can't we just play nicely?
Bullshit mullah. Paul Hill, Clayton Lee Waagner, Eric Rudolph, Michael Griffin, John Salvi - all fundy psychopaths who committed crimes in the name of religion and all said it was justified. They don't think they were commiting evil; they say they were doing what the Bible said! You fundies are a lot closer to psychopaths than mainstream Christians or atheists.
The fact of the matter is that there are good religious people and there are bad religious people. There are also good athiests and bad athiests. It takes religion, or something like it, to make good people do bad things.
Morality does not come from religion. It is genetic.
See I don't have to be scared of going to Hell to be a moral person. I'm a moral person because I feel that it is right.
And I am in no way against structured religion... Because I can't imagine how fucked up this world would be if all the Sheep-like, No brained , Idiots had nothing to scare them into being good.
its like theism was an excuse
to be the good samaritan.
like your belief in christ
made you humanitarian.
do you truly need a leash
to keep your teeth away
from a human being's flesh?
Are you really so astray?
No charity has escaped my grip
beneath the influence of God,
for only animals have masters
and I'm not a goddamn dog.
Intimachine on Deviantart wrote this. Makes sense to me.
'But at least their religion forces them to acknowledge within themselves the evil they do.'
WRONG, shithead! Paul Hill NEVER acknowledged his criminal acts - he said it was 'Biblically' justified.
funny cause Athiests have obligations to family, friends, and loved ones.
When you are an Atheist you only have the natural world- so actually there is a lot to live for!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
