"Thinking too much will rot your soul."
*(pats Aysia on head )* Yes, that's right! And Jesus influences you by being in your heart, despite this organ being a mere blood pump, and is completely irrelevant to neurological activity in the brain.
Now you go back to your Fuzzy Felt Bible dear, the adults are talking.
Well, some circular pseudophilosophy is designed to bind minds for as long as possible, to exploit. We could call that mind corruption and pollution, a limbo-conditioning that rots the mind, attempts to deprive the individual from the capacity to reason correctly. Mind is a better term than soul, it refers to the actual mind and its processes and games, rather than only to the brain organ/substrate producing it, while avoiding the false premise that the mind is supernatural or of supernatural origin. "Soul" is best used metaphorically for "person".
High control groups, cults, dictators and businesses profit from a generally ignorant and misled people. Critical thinking skills, knowledge and social awareness empower people and their rights against such threats.
Confused?
