With the war against white Christianity by the secular left, we all know that openly offending Christians is not only accepted, but has almost become celebrated in this country.
At the same time we also know that had this offended a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression, then everything would be done to avoid any offence.

a) I'm not overly keen on black, yellow, or pink Christianity either
b) No, I'm quite happy to criticise Islamic ideas as well - this may lead to offense.
No, fuck islam with a pig dick.
You've been fighting for centuries to see who has the better imaginary friend. You're BOTH fairytale worshipping retardeds.
With the war against white Christianity by the secular left, we all know that openly offending Christians is not only accepted, but has almost become celebrated in this country.
I was unaware that Christianity was "white"? I thought it was invented in the middle east? The rest is nothing but shit talking, having nothing to do with reality
At the same time we also know that had this offended a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression, then everything would be done to avoid any offence.
Wow..feeling persecuted are we? Did you pay attention to the debate centered around the new Mosque going up near ground zero? Never heard a congregation of a Christian church have to promise over and over again that they will not be terrorists and other SPECIAL promise that they had to succumb too..read up on it..I bet you will have no problem with THEM being persecuted, as long as YOU are doing the persecuting.
Look, you may have a point that people are feeling increasingly comfortable criticising Christianity these days - but to claim that Islam somehow gets a free ride is delusory. Many Muslims find themselves viewed with suspicion and negativity simply by walking down the street in many western countries, which I imagine is probably a more unpleasant experience than having your religion mocked.
But even so, Islam is criticised and mocked regularly. Even if it is not with the regularity that Christianity is made fun of, it is evident that the criticisms that ARE made of Islam are causing more upset and anger from Muslims than criticism of Christianity is causing in Christians. So it would seem, at least...
Can someone with a degree in psychology please help me to understand why there seems to be a part of the human psyche that makes one salivate over the idea that they are persecuted? Some Christians seem to get an almost erotic pleasure out of declaring how oppressed they are... in the face of all evidence to the contrary.
White Christianity? A religion reputedly started by a brown-skinned Palestinian Jew is white? How exactly?
Edit: Islam, Zoroastrian, Christian, Voudun or Judaism. Imaginary skydaddies are imaginary skydaddies and delusions are delusions.

Im not a psyche, but I bet if you looked up "battered wife syndrome" it would lead you in the right direction. I think they get their love of persecution from dogmas that claim if they are being persecuted that they are being persecuted for two reasons:
-They are being persecuted FOR Christ.
-Being persecuted is "proof" that their beliefs are the correct ones, because if their beliefs were not correct, then they would not be "persecuted".
White Christianity? Are we in the right forum here?
But since it is here, where did Jesus or Paul ever even hint that Christianity was for whites? I'm not even sure if Jesus or Paul can be described as Caucasian, as if it mattered!
@ Scooby
Personally i worry about the candy-striped ones! LOL in a sarcastic vein.
@ Rev Jeremiah
There was a time that Christians were falling over themselves to get thrown to the lion in the arena. The church back them had to take steps to discourage self-immolation. And the Romans got very uneasy about it too, considering it quite unhealthy. So the persecution mania is not something new to fundyism.
I probably qualify as "secular left".
I believe all 3 major Abrahamic religions are equally stupid.
And moreover I have never been anything but consistent on this point.
I don't have a problem with religion in general, or any particular religion. I have a problem with idiocy (particularly when it effects others, including myself), bigotry, and evangelism.
There is no war against white christianity.
Finaly Someone who admits judaism's aggressive and violent nature.
I find that most jews take the religious command to kill everyone of non-biblical race... with a huge grain of salt. But the almost obsessive fear of criticising jews, is a sad thing.
So yes, Lets treat judaism just like any other religion. Condemn its absurditys and exesses. Demand its reformation. And hold it's members individualy accountable for the acts they individualy commit in the name of their religion.
So, Martin Luther King, black as a blackberry, was not Christian in any way or shape. Neither is Jessie Jackson, for that matter.
Bullshit. There's a difference between a light-hearted joke at someone's expense, and going out of one's way to offend. Most people are ok with the former and condemn the latter.
@Xotan: I'm rather offended by the polka-dotted Christians, myself. And don't even get me started on the plaid-skinned ones! ;P
You know really, since noone is actually physically harming your religion, you really are just getting worked up over words.
What ever happened to sticks and stones? Do words really do hurt you?
Okay, I'm just going to go ahead and say. Those of you offended over something someone said, drew or wrote are seriously absolute fucking total pansies. Wussies. Pussies. Weaklings. Scaredy-cats. Turdmunchers.
Get the shit beaten out of you, then I might listen to your complaints. Till then, all I hear is "WHAAAAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA, naughty man said Jesus is stupid, WHAAAAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAAAA".
Democracy and freedom of speech is a bitch, right?
"a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression"? Besides Christianity? Can't think of one, sorry. Oh, wait, during the last couple of hundred years a newcomer has emerged; Islam. It needs a millennium or two to achieve the aggression of Christianity, but it has its merits, sure.
There are anti Islam, anti Pagan, anti atheist, and anti Jew sites. There are people who put down non believers everywhere. No that certain religion has been offended. Denmark comes to mind. The cartoons of Muhammed?
"At the same time we also know that had this offended a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression, then everything would be done to avoid any offence."
Excuse me? Didn't we just have an entire frickin day devoted to drawing the prophet mohammed? You should be so lucky.

There's no war against Christianity, you nutcase. And nobody has the right to never be offended.
At the same time we also know that had this offended a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression, then everything would be done to avoid any offence.

FAIL.
Telling the small minority of US fundamentalist Christians to STFU and stop trying to tell the rest of us what to believe doesn't equal "openly offending Christians". It equals openly offending judgmental, holier-than-thou fundie assholes. Stop trying to bring the rest of the reasonable Christian world to your defense. They think you're an asshole, too.
"With the war against white Christianity by the secular left, we all know that openly offending Christians is not only accepted, but has almost become celebrated in this country."
Tell that to the people who have run for office in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and North Carolina who were denied their seats because of their lack of faith.
Becoming celebrated? Well, Blasphemy Day is a little slow in getting off the ground, but every year more participate. Now there's Draw Mohammed Day, and I hope soon there will be a Drop-Kick Deepak Day, in which New Age trinkets are destroyed and we run around poking people in their chakras.
"At the same time we also know that had this offended a certain other religion with a tendency for aggression, then everything would be done to avoid any offence. "
Oh yes, you bet, it's not like Britain and the US went to war with anyone because of their fanatic beliefs...ever...you asshole
I'm amazed at the logic.
So advertising something that's against YOUR religion, but not necessarily against other people's religion, is offensive?
So Jews should be offended when Shop Rite advertizes ham on sale?
And no, I'm not comparing abortion to a ham sandwich, but you get the idea I hope.
We don't pick on muslims that much because you ACTUALLY pick on them. We call you out for crazy bullshit when you try and cram it down our throats or those of stupid people or children who don't know better.
So far muslims don't do that as openly as you do. When they do do that we run things like Draw Mohammed Day...
At its heart, Islam is, in this modern age of weapons of mass destruction, a planet destroyer, you dozy plonker. By the way, I am, generally speaking, secular centre, sometimes secular centre-right and sometimes secular centre-left. Ok, it's not black and white. There's innumerable shades of grey in there, but that's what the real world's like. In other words, I don't hold allegiance to any particular ideology but would rather support reason and tolerance and raise a cheer for humanity.
Does Christ have a different faith for black people then?
And regarding the "They're too scared to pick on Muslims" thing, look up some of Pat Condell's rants, or P. Z. Myers' comments or type "Islam" into the search at Atheist Nexus, or check out Draw Mohammed Day.
Welcome to America, where everyone has the right to offend each other, or take offense, even at the unoffensive.
Meanwhile: wahhhhhhh, quit making us white Christians look like mewling babies
I find all theistic beliefs to be absurd and useless at best. I live in a predominantly christian country, and Christian zealots have the most impact on my life, personally and politically. That is why Christian zealots get the bulk of my ire.
Hope that makes it clear.
@Scooby71

You may be, the mainstream media isn't.
Confused?
