I support freedom to be Christian. I never claimed to like the idea of having freedom to be a non-Christian.

You may not have claimed it, but people have the right nonetheless. And while we're here, why not look up the parable of the Good Samaritan? Why did Jesus praise the actions of someone who was obviously not Christian?
"I never claimed to like the idea of having freedom to be a non-Christian."
Well, you can claim to dislike it then. Meanwhile the rest of humanity will carry on doing what they wish.
If you're going to base who has rights on those whom you personally like and dislike, you're going to have a dictatorship and numerous conflicts of interest. I'm not a Christian or an atheist, but I think you have rights and I'm willing to protect your rights.
Please extend the same gratitude to the non-Christians by your side.
Having met many of your fellow christians, I feel confident saying that there is a large number of folks who agree with you.
However, the people who actually founded this country had no intention of imposing any one religion on the rest of us. They said we'd all be free to practice whatever religion calls to us or no religion at all.
We don't care if you don't like it and we don't give two fucks about what you 'support'.
America is free because everyone is free to be a Christian and not anything else.
Did anyone here realise North Korea is a free country?
North Korea is free because you are free to love the kim dynasty but nothing else.
You don't have to like it. Similarly, I don't have to be a Christian.
Deal with it. Or don't. I don't care.
You don't have to like it but you have to follow it. It's the law of the land in every developed nation and, more importantly, it's a universal human right. Don't want to follow it? Then have fun either going to jail or moving to Uganda.
Right wing mentalities are loaded with contradictory nonsense like this. By the way, by criticizing this brain fart statement, the Republican far righter will also say you're infringing on their free speech rights.
What if we don't like the idea of you having freedom to be a Christian, you dolt?
Freedoms are for all, or they are not freedoms.
If you want to have freedoms, you must also be prepared to defend the freedoms of others.
Making a claim doesn't necessarily mean it is so.
I can say that I have an Invisible Pink Unicorn living in my pants. And which says that you only have the freedom to worship what I have in my pants.
You only have the freedom to accept this fact.
Now you see where your logic is going...?!
I support freedom to be Atheist. I never claimed to like the idea of having freedom to be a non-Atheist.
Read it that way...does that work for you? If not, why not?
I was hoping, for the sake of my sanity, that this was an in-character post that found its way here by mistake. Of course it wasn't. The sad part is that I doubt he even has an inkling of the inherent contradiction. Or he doesn't care. Not sure which possibility scares me more.
Confused?
