It's funny, you know. Regular illnesses (with the exception of AIDS, God's favorite terror weapon, of course) haven't been singled out for years. No one says influenza is caused by spirits today. But when we get to mental disorders, suddenly they're this big, scary, alien thing that has to be explained away as demon infection or punishment for sin or whatever.
God doesn't by the excuse however and neither do some people. most people have moved on from the dark-age woo explanations for mental disorders. Except fundies in the States and possibly certain New Age groups.

When the sins were originally constructed by the Greek theologian Evagrius of Pontus, sadness was a sin. They were, in order of increasing seriousness: gluttony, lust, avarice, sadness, anger, acedia, vainglory, and pride.
In the 6th century Pope Gregory reduced the list to seven items. In the 17th century the Church removed sadness from the list and added sloth. So Christianity recategorizes sins to suit itself, and it has done it again recently. Not to mention fundies recategorize sin to suit their beliefs, and the deadly sins were invented by man, not god, so the whole notion of sin is screwed up anyway, and is best ignored.

This chick defies the imagination. I've been reading this since someone linked to it months ago. She is a young girl who knows nothing. She is arrogant, listens to no one, judges without thinking, and is pretty convinced she's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Her rudeness is astounding, as well as her lack of any real knowledge, about anything. She doesn't care to learn about anything, listen to anyone about anything, or use her brain. I think that there are some mental health issues at play in her life; before she came to the states and married her American husband she was on the teen boards ranting about all her troubles. She is most definitely in denial.
What's worse is that she is breeding. One already and within a couple months of that one being born she was pregnant again.

My mother was diagnosed with schizophrenia any fundy retard stupid enough to say that her illness was do to sin or demons is going to get a bloody nose. I've heard fundtards say that about her again and again before and I'm getting tired of it. Or they say retarded things like she is not right with God, or that he's testing her and so forth.

As a person who suffers from severe anxiety, and has several family members that suffer from depression, I would like to say to Katy-Anne, fuck you, you fucking bitch.
Since I don't believe in the ridiculous idea of SIN, I don't worry about trying to excuse my depression and mild ADD to a mythical deity or ignorant, superstitious fundies. I just follow my doctor's advice and get on with my life. What a crazy idea, huh?

True story, I once had a friend who was epileptic. We were out one day when he had a fit. I was taking care of it, when one fundie told me that my friend was being possessed by a demon and that I should stand clear so that it didn't get me too.
