They turn their backs on almost 2,000 years of Christian history, and say that other churches are wrong and will deceive you. They point instead to their leader or founder as the final authority, and claim that God has given them a new revelation of Himself.

Uh, guys, the industrial-thickness shielding on the new irony meters just failed.
The ironic thing is that Billy Graham is the best of the litter in the fundy cosmos. He is relatively intelligent and respectable. Yet he can mouth a delusional analysis like this. He paints a perfectly clear picture of the very brand of religiosity to which he himself has dedicated his life. He son, Franklin, reveals clearly the dangers of seemingly rational personage as individual such as Billy Graham. Franklin Graham learned well at his father's knee. He expresses the vile hatreds that just underlie the surface veneer of a more civilized Billy Graham. Fundamentalism in any form is a danger to a civilized society.
