No, see, you're supposed to start with common sense, then add science, then add religion. What you're doing is having religion, then filling in the gaps with bullshit.

So you should marry someone you can't stand? Damn. I know there have been such instances when love have developed later on, but that doesn't seem to happen very often. It's more likely that someone will want to marry a person they can get along with than someone they'd like to avoid. And what if later on one of the parties becomes an atheist or wants to leave Islam?

Okay, there are so many things I could say to this.
I could say that studies of the evolutionary patterns of animals have suggested that, while males DO generally compete with each other for the right to mate, the nature of this competition is usually decided by whatever sort of display will attract the most females. Thus, females get the final say in the evolutionary destiny of the species.
I could point out that marriage from romantic love is fairly modern as a widely accepted practice, and, as this religion is over 1,000 years old, it can hardly be expected to keep up with current events.
I could just state for the record that a lot of religions seem to have some sort of patriarchal caste system with an appearance derived from the sort of pack structure we see in wolves and which it is suggested humans formerly lived in, so adherence to them is basically one of the purest forms of societal regression around.
I could say all these things, but there wouldn't be a point. The only people who would listen are the ones who already agree with me, anyway.
