There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church. It was founded for the salvation of every tribe, tongue, people and nation. There is nothing human that is alien to us. There is no weakness with which we are unacquainted. We know 'diversity' in a way that the 'gay' movement hasn't the first clue.
That's why, unless we would break fellowship with Christ who delivers the Church from ignorance of God's will, and from sin and death, we will not make the mistake of thinking that sex with the same sex is a matter of being 'different'.

There are plenty of older institutions. Christianity owes a lot of its "universality" to the fact that it has "saved" so many people at swordpoint.
"We're so tolerant and diverse! No poofters."
Right. And also the Jews and Hindus, not to mention other, smaller religions, would like to have a word with you about that 'oldest, most universal institution' crap.
There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church.
Except for the Greek republic...and Hinduism, which has eyewitness accounts of the last Ice Age...and Hammurabic Law...well, pretty much all of the 6,000--8,000 years of recorded history that happened before Jesus was a dirty thought in Jehovah's mind.
FAIL!!!!!
Actually, there are many older, more universal institutions on this planet than Christianity. Your religion has been around for less than 2000 years. It is, in fact, one of the youngest institutions in civilized existence.
Look it up. I dare you.
We know 'diversity' in a way that the 'gay' movement hasn't the first clue.
Over the centuries the preferred christian way to deal with diversity was, to either erradicate it (persecution of nonbelievers), assimilate it (for example pagan festivals, like for example the festival in honor of sol invictus, which became christmas) or to force people that were "diverse" to either adapt to the christian way of life or to lose their lives.

Doctor Whom: A lot of that swordpoint saving was the Catholics, and they ain't Christian.
Catholics are indeed christian.
Of course Dr. Whom is right in a way:
Many american fundamental evangelical christians don´t accept the members of RCC as christians because they don´t believe in the literal truth of the bible, have some rituals that differ from rituals written in the bible (likw for example the worship of Mary and several saints) and, lst but not least, because their bible is not the King James version of the bible (many evangelicals believe that only the KJV and some ther bibles that are based upon it contain the true word of god whereas all other versions of the bible are corrupted by Satan in one way or the other)
Apart from the Jews who you guys came from?
You know diversity by destroying it. Because you want everyone to worship your sky wizard. Amusingly you have destroyed a fair bit of culture across the world due to this.
A lot of that swordpoint saving was the Catholics, and they ain't Christian.
...but then, if only Protestants are Christian, Christianity is still quite young.
"but then, if only Protestants are Christian, Christianity is still quite young."
According to Bro. Randy and his ilk, the IFBs have been around, quietly reading their Bibles and resisting the Satanic Catholic church, since around 29 AD.
"There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church. ..."
So, why is it rejected by more than two-thirds of the world's population?
"There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church."
Even by a fundie timeline, there was the Jewish church.
There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church.
What about the Jews, Pagens, and Hindus?
We know 'diversity' in a way that the 'gay' movement hasn't the first clue.
What?
dpareja- I hope you're being sarcastic.
Well,
there are at least three universal institutions, much older than the christian church, found in every tribe, tongue, people and nation.
Science, Philosophy and Art. Science began when a caveman made experiments to determine how to start a fire in the most effective way. And the intelligent minds of every nation, every tribe discuss philosophy, since ancient times. And art began in the stone-age with drawing horses on the walls of their dwellings.
And to be completely correct (no offense meant), there is one institution, perhaps the oldest of all, and definitely found in every tribe, tongue, people and nation. It is ... prostitution.
Here we go again... for the xxxxxxth time, xianity is not the oldest religion or even the most universal institution on Earth, by volume anyway. Sure it has infested almost every single place on the globe.
And, you know jack-shit about diversity, as been demonstrated in numerous quotes on here. Or maybe you know, but just can't handle it. Take a pick.
...And as i read your second paragraph, QED.

"There is no weakness with which we are unacquainted."
You got THAT right! Not only are you acquaihnted with human weakness, you revel in it, you cherish it, and you make of it a whole reason for being. Not the salvation from weakness, you tend to embrace the weaknesses themselves - all while claiming to oppose the same weaknesses.
Hypocrisy, thy name is "Church".
Yeah, sure. Except for, you know, all the institutions that came before Christianity, like Judaism and Buddhism, and Hinduism.
So, homosexuality is not alien to you? GREAT!
If you know diversity so well, embracing gay people as just being humans would be no problem at all for you. Right? Right?
No, sex with the same gender is just natural, and the trait is present in almost all animals on Earth.
It's not even being "different", and the rest of us can't fathom how you people can waste so much energy on something that has no impact on your life whatsoever.
"There is no older, more universal institution on earth, than the Christian church."
List! What is yon sound in the distance? Why, it's the sound of every Professor of History and/or Theology pointing at you and laughing their tits off:

And the knowledge said professors possess after decades of research - and thus the theses & dissertations written by such - makes them more than qualified in their fields, therefore rendering the rest of your irrelevant Christian 'morality' tl;dr non-sequitur completely invalid, Dan.
And those professors are from the likes of Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, Harvard etc, and not Christian 'university'/diploma mills
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What utter crap.
Confused?
