And, you know what the scientists are basically saying? Same thing as Christians. "Just believe us, because we think we are wright(even though we can't prove it)".
Also, here's anther thing to think about: Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us? The odds of only one species achieving greater intelligence is almost null. Meaning, it basically can't happen.

Actually, you have that backwards. Evolving into an intelligent race is a pretty lucky thing to happen. Certain conditions luckily all came together to allow us to evolve as far as we did. It's amazing enough one species evolved into an intelligent one, more than one would be more and more unlikely.
I hope I'm not wrong, I read this on Exit Mundi. Hope I got that right and it's accurate.
No, scientists, many of whom are Christians themselves, say "we think we're right, and here's why, and our work has been double-checked". Biblical literalist fundies say "goddidit, 'cause it says so in this book we got from some anonymous bronze age Arab goat-herders".
Wrongo. Science is testable by definition. It just gets complicated, so the proof can only be understood with a lot of study - and so isn't acessible to dumbasses.
As for how one species achieves conscious thought, doesn't someone have to be first? What's much more unlikely is for sentience to be achieved by a variety of animals in different environments at just the same time. Now that would be a miracle.
"Almost null" is very different than "Cannot Happen."
The chances of winning the lottery are almost null, but it happens.
"Just believe us, because we think we are wright"
I only know of two of them who would make that claim. You might know them from their little experiment on a beach at Kitty Hawk.
"Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us?"
Wait, so this "us" you're talking about aren't Homo Sapiens?
What the hell are you?
o_O
it is kinda weird that mankind has so much perceived intelligence, but we're just lucky to have been the species that evolved high intelligence, opposable thumbs, and bipedal locomotion.
I think you're making a puddle argument though, in part, because we would not be here to contemplate this if it had not happened... Which means it was inevitable.
... Homo Sapiens ... that's .... us.
There you go I explained it using your own words, The answer was in the question!
It probably won't happen on this planet until the ape branch is wiped out, and birds or lizards begin using fire.
It's easier for me to believe in superintelligent ETs, sight unseen, than the notion that a middle eastern tribal blood god created the universe and everything in it.
"Just believe us, because we think we are wright(even though we can't prove it)". "
If by that last part you mean a scientist can pull out a pile of evidence supporting their claims, sure we can say that.
"Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us?"
Because.. we are homo sapiens?
""Just believe us, because we think we are wright(sic)(even though we can't prove it)". "
Illiterate and wrong in one sentence.
Priceless.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
The "odds" of an event which has happened (like the rise of an intelligent Homo Sapiens on Earth) are 1 to 1. 100% A "lead-pipe cinch".
"Odds" are only relevant when predicting the probability of something which has not happened.
Checks drivers license ~ Nope not Wright.
Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us?
We have no teeth, no claws, no armour. We're slow moving. The only advantage we have is our brains. Big brains = more technology.
Oh and Koko the Gorilla has tested with an IQ between 75 and 90. Probably (see Edit)Definitely in the same [or above] yours.
Edit:
Can't believe I missed the "Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us" . That's so funny it deserves a cat.

Because, otherwise, we're astonishingly subpar as a species. Claws and teeth are meh, at best, walking upright, exposing any and all weak points for anything that desires a snack...the only real thing we have going for us is intelligence, and thumbs. We worked off of those two, developing tools, which grew more sophisticated.

HOMO SAPIENS....
IS...
PEOPLE!!!!!

The odds of only one species achieving greater intelligence is almost null.
Actually, since intelligence is one method of adaptation, the odds of one species achieving greater intelligence than another is pretty much guaranteed.
Back when humans were just hunter/gatherer tribes they had the same intelligence as we do today. Yet, if an asteroid impact or other global disaster had wiped them out future intelligences would find no evidence that there were any intelligent creatures before them. It's possible we aren't the first just the first to last long enough to leave our mark on the planet.
Not 'wright', 'right'.
Not 'null', 'nill'.
Although it's still wrong, wrong, wrong.

There's Neanderthal and Homo Floresiensis who existed simultaneously with us. The fact that they are all dead now has more to do with us being raging dicks than astounding improbabilities.
Humans think they are the smartest creatures because they invent all kinds of things while dolphins just eat fish and play all day. Dolphins know they are the smartest creatures because they just eat fish and play all day.

"Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us? "
Well, that's going to be difficult. Who are the "us" to which you refer?
"Explain why Homo Sapiens are the only species we know of that's anywhere at all close to remotely near as technologically advanced as us?"
OH! So fundies ARE a different species! This makes so much more sense now.

Yea but on Naboo two intelligent species DID evolve. Thankfully Queen Amadala helped reconcile the differences in the two species with the assistance of that guy that spoke funny.
Oh wait, that was Star Wars.
And, you know what the scientists are basically saying? Same thing as Christians. "Just believe us, because we think we are wright(even though we can't prove it)".
Firstly, are you saying that to you, as a Christian, the scientists are equally valid as the bible?
Secondly, the scientists can actually prove it. Believing untested and unproven hearsay is the complete opposite of the scientific method.
The odds of only one species achieving greater intelligence is almost null.
What about the odds of one species achieving big floppy ears and a trunk? Also, what about neanderthals?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
