Let's take a look at the major causes of fatherlessness:
1. No-fault divorce
2. The de-stigmatization of promiscuity
3. Stigmatization of Patriarchy (fatherly authority)
Now let's take a look at the goals of the feminist movement:
1. No-fault divorce
2. The de-stigmatization of promiscuity
3. Stigmatization of Patriarchy (fatherly authority)
I'm not saying that fatherlessness was an explicit objective of Feminism. I'm saying that if fatherlessness had been an explicit objective of Feminism...
...they wouldn't have done anything differently.

Funny, most single mothers I know, feminist or otherwise, would give anything to have their child's father in his/her life. For those that wouldn't, it's usually because the father is an addict/criminal/abuser/otherwise unfit to be around children. When you have a single parent, male or female, it's usually because the other parent rejected and/or abandoned their child. They're called "Deadbeat Parents" for a reason, and it's not just about the support payments.
Sure, some choose to raise a child without a father/mother, but as long as they're able to provide basic needs, and a loving nurturing environment, that's fine.
Thanks Dukie for your opinion. As a matter of fact, the main cause of
fatherlessness is desertion by the father. You know, he blows town, leaving mom and kids penniless.
Lawd, you and your ilk are a bunch of cranks.
Taking death out of the equation, other than a court revoking a man's parental rights for some valid reason, like abusiveness, or the relatively rare instance in which a mother has somehow absconded with a child, there's only one reason anyone grows up fatherless: some asshole walked out on his kid.
You got confused. The first list was: poor education about/access to contraception and cheap, safe abortion, a culture simoultaneously praising male promiscuity and damning the female one, lack of decent jobs to support a family, and the USA's shameful backwardness in such things as maternity leave and child subsidies. Not to mention, the schockingly high rate of incarceration among young black males.

No Timmy, you are exactly saying that it is feminism.
Well y'know, if conservatives wanted to reduce fatherlessness they could... oh, I don't know, make sure everyone has a living wage, improve access to and education about contraception, and stop incarcerating people for minor offenses. Just an idea to throw out there.
Let's take a look at the major causes of fatherlessness:

The first two cut both ways - in one study, infidelity was the number one reported cause, with husbands cited almost twice as often as wives. The third is nonsense; women don't divorce a husband simply because they don't like "fatherly authority", unless he thinks that includes slapping her around. As for simple "incompatibility" in no-fault cases, men and women report that about equally.
You conveniently forgot:
1. Wife-beating - about 10% of women report physical abuse as one of the causes (vs 0% for men)
2. Husband's drunkenness or drug addiction - over twice as many women cite their husbands drinking or drug use as a cause
3. Husband's inability to find or keep a job
There was plenty of "fatherlessness" before feminism, WWII, even in the hypocritical Victorian era. Before effective ways to trace people, men just walked away from families.
Strangely enough, all women would LOVE to have the father of their kid involved in that kid's life. It' seems it's only the dead-beat-dad in question who don't want to get involved.
My dad's father died when daddy was just six months old. My grandmother had to raise him herself, even though it wasn't socially acceptable at the time.
My father-in-law's dad also died when he was about six months old.
Daddy was an only child, and grandmother married someone else when he was about six years old.
Father-in-law was the youngest of seven children, and his elder sisters took care of him as he grew up.
Feminism is simply EQUALITY between men and women. What men are able to do, women ought to be able to do too. Easy, peasy.
1. Divorce is mainly implicated only so far as the father is the one who leaves.
2. Stigmatisation of promiscuity fosters distrust between the parties of marriage as the parties are each afraid the other will "cheat" on them. It's really possessive, honestly.
3. If there should be two parties to a marriage, best that they both have a say rather than one having a monopoly, eh, Timmy?
For someone who thinks so little of fatherlessness, i bet hes still waiting for his holy father to come down from the sky. Hehasnt been home much, and when he is, hes an arse
well, let's see: what are the biggest limiting factors in society for women before the woman's rights movement truly came into play?
1. Women being socially expected to take on a majority of child care needs
2. Women being offered lower wages because their work is seen as inherently inferior
3. an expectation of socially chaste, modestly dressed women that submit to heterosexual, monogamous partners with the soul purpose of procreation... after going through a marriage ritual that makes the woman the "social property" of that male partner.
Now, what is the Main argument of the MRA concerning how women should act and be received by society?
I'm not saying you're a hypocrite Tim-Tim, but your world view is just as subversive and repressive as your hypothetical feminist one.
I'm not saying that fatherlessness was an explicit objective of Feminism
Yes, you are, you lying shitbag.
Southern Fundamentalists: Highest divorce rates in America.
That's a fact Jack.
Main cause of divorces : Major idiocy.
It's the world you right-wingers made and it won't get better until y'all die off without ruining the young.
Main causes of fatherlessness are
1) Absent fathers.
2) Dead fathers.
3) Fathers who are unaware their children exist.
I expect the third group has *slightly* increased as a result of the sexual revolution, except that modern birth control means prostitutes have fewer children, so it probably all evens out.
Divorce doesn't make you not a father. And if the inability to be a tyrant makes you abandon your family, they're probably better off without you.
Confused?
