Whenever an attempt is made to stop social pathologies its the conservatives who are first in line to stop these attempts. You conservatards worship ignorance because it makes you look less retarded in comparison. So my dear conservatard, whine and cry some more about people who know things making you look bad.
Er, yeah, except that the patriarchy wants to *control* these women, and force them to be brood-mares, instead of allowing them to *choose* whether or not to bear children. The patriarchy is opposed to research into those diseases, and is actively delaying a cure for HIV. Evolution has nothing to do with it.
It's not evolution which makes condoms so bloody efficient if used properly. Of course they don't get women pregnant or spread STDs(as a whole). What they do, and study after study it's shown, is that some of them spread misinformation about sexuality, making it riskier.
Well if the Republican Party didn't keep pushing abstinence only sex "education" on teenagers that would of used some protection.
So yeah, it is their fault in a way. So amanda is right. In a way.

OK, I just love right-wing fundie Republicans. 9/11 is Clinton's fault even though it was on Bush's watch(and Bush appointed an attorney General who was a FUNDIE REPUBLICAN and viewed terrorism as less of a threat than pornography and prostitution). The failure of Bush's little war for profit is not based on an ill-conceived, under prepared administration who attacked the WRONG COUNTRY(and lied to do it) while licking the butt of the country(Saudi Arabia) whose nationals actually attacked us, NO, it is because of the people who opposed it, and told everyone that it was a scam for political purposes. They refuse to admit Bush's welfare for the rich schemes, neutering of the SEC, and licking the butt's of his big oil contributors have led us down the path to financial ruin and blame it on the Liberals in spite of the fact the GOP controlled BOTH Houses of Congress and the White House, passing all these laws to cause this fiscal fiasco. Now that their precious Abstinence-Only sex NON-education has led to the disaster of kids having exactly the same amount of teen sex without any idea of precautions for the prevention of pregnancy and STD's, they want to blame it on evolution and atheism? What a whiney bunch of spoiled hypocritical babies!

No, but Republicans don't help by pushing abstinence "education" and banning all knowledge of contraception, sex and how the body works, so people go and do stupid things when they are ignorant. Look at the rates of teen pregnancy and VD in Bible Belt states for proof of that.
