I'm terrible with links but if you google Obama and hindu god you will come upon a story that broke yesterday about certain things he carries in his pocket...one of them is a madonna and child and then there is a hindu god;
among other things. I would like opinions on this. I found this on a secular
website and the majority of people think it's much ado about nothing. Most
christians disagree. What say you? I say whenever there is a leader who
does such things yet proclaims to be a christian, it shows what interesting times we live in.

But you still think he's a Muslim too, right?
John McCain carries a lucky penny, nickel and rubber band, according to the same article. Does this mean he worships money? (Like we couldn't guess that anyway.) Or maybe he prays to office supplies. But that's OK, isn't it, so long as he's willing to let you bash gays, shoot Planned Parenthood workers, send other people's kids to war somewhere and tattoo the Ten Commandments on unbelievers' foreheads?
Sounds a bit narrow minded.
And sounds a bit like the sort of people who, if given the chance, would destroy any artwork without hesitation that they consider to be against their faith.
Analogous to the "Entartete Kunst" (degenerate art) in Hitlers Third Reich.
Apparently, he carries a picture of Hanuman, the monkey God who represents the ideal, devoted and loyal friend.
He is a beautiful symbol and I completely support his image being toted by anybody.

Oh, you mean like Bush & Co. stealing our constitutional rights from us? Yeah, I agree.
Or maybe it just means he likes her music. "Like a Virgin" did very well. BTW, sometimes I have been known to carry a small handi-talkie, but that just means I'm a ham, not that I worship at some Marconi temple.
And here I am thinking, "Gee, you found this article, but rather than provide a direct link, you just tell us to go look for it ourselves? Well, then screw you."
And I'll bet you're more upset by that madonna-and-child than you are about the Hindu god, aren'tcha?
After all, Jack Chick only wrote 1 tract condemning Hindus.
He wrote no less than 5 tracts condemning Catholics.
It shows that he is tolerant and accepting of other faiths and is able to draw inspiration from more than the crucifix, the Jesus fish, and belligerently religious bumper stickers. Heaven forbid.
Though it is nice that you are able to freak out about such things, isn't it?
The majority of people think it's much ado about nothing yet most Christians disagree? Are you forgetting that the majority ARE Christians? I think you've got your adjectives mixed up.
Why don't you go see if you can find Satan on some food packaging or something.
Katz
He's a Muslim, Hindu, with a preacher saying Goddamn America and he doesn't go to Church!
Also, Hanuman fought a demon army and rescued a princess.
DEATH TO THE DEMON FIGHTERS!
You guys are really getting desperate, aren't you? You can't dig up any real dirt on Obama so you keep getting hysterical about any retarded little thing you can think up. Bush claims to be a christian and murders children, you can let that pass, but Obama possibly carrying a Hindu god in his pocket is a reason to piss yourselves? I fucking hate you weak, backwards morons. Please stop trying to speak for "most christians", because most christians wouldn't touch you Rapture Ready assholes with a ten foot pole.
Uh-oh I carry a keychain with a Sacagawea dollar in it and a swiss army knife.! I guess I must worship Indian women and the Swiss Army.PS It is much ado about nothing, and only clowns like you, desperate to find something wrong with a good man who doesn't lick your fundie asses like that lying fake-fundie Bush, would care.
So he is secular? He may just like Hanuman. I mean, christianity is such a downer. Oh eternal hellfire... Maybe he likes the slightly more upbeat Hanuman... A monkey god than your zombie jesus or vengeful war god. Its a bunch of lucky charms you dumbasses. Its like whining about the Irish and their shamrocks.
@Rambler: The statues they blew up were Buddhist ones.
Amusingly enough, when they were planning to blow them up, I hoped one would fall on them. Just for the "lol" value.

I hear that he carries a a step ladder, a half eaten Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar and a set of keys in his other pocket.
@ mling: "Apparently, he carries a picture of Hanuman, the monkey God who represents the ideal, devoted and loyal friend."
Well, good for him. I'm still a bit hesitant to associate the terms Obama and monkey in my mind, myself. But the important thing here is what Hanuman means to Obama.
Confused?
