[From thread titled "So Man Made Global Warming is True, says antipope Francis!"]
Very good articles, Thank you.
Another falsehood bandied around is "that there are too many people in the world". The plethora of non-believers in the world do not understand that it was God's will that man fill the earth. Therefore as it is the will of God that this occur he would not have created the systems that we humans call Mother Nature to not cope with countless billions of humans we now have.
Climate has changed, it is caused by man, but not his economic or industrial activity, but his turning away from Christ and his only true church. Mother nature is rebelling at the magnitude of sin in the world, not because of 7 billion humans or our industrial activities.
Strangely enough the records that Al Gore and his band use show that the climate has been showing signs of change since the 1960's. Well Guess what happened in 1958 to the church? Is it really a surprise that things are changing. Things will change more and get even worse as we have been warned.

The magical thinkers who ascribe natural disasters to their enemies need to get together and decide, once and for all, which heathens are causing which natural disasters. They are beginning to come across as a little inconsistent.
So what do you want then? So many humans we literally have no space anymore and are all crammed against each other? You think the planet will still be able to handle that?
Dude, your bible says that god created the earth with only 2 humans to live in it. How can it possibly be designed to sustain "countless billions" then?
Seriously, this level of stupidity is dangerous. Not just for themselves but for the entire planet earth. THE EARTH'S OVERPOPULATED! WE DON'T NEED MORE HUMANS! When is that finally going to sink in with you explosive breeders (yet who hate sex, go figure)?

I think what everyone's missing is when you tell people not to have big families, you're telling people from big families some of us shouldn't exist.
(Youngest of 7 kids here) Not at all. If someone has already been born, then that's that, they deserve life according to my humanist philosophy. But responsible breeding in an overpopulated world of 7 billion people means not having so many children. If you have a small family, the children you don't have aren't going to care or even know that they're not born. And if my mother hadn't gotten pregnant with me (like the doctor told her not to), then I'd never have reached consciousness and sentience, so I wouldn't have cared if I wasn't born. I don't see it as offensive or anything to tell people to have small families.
BTW, I only have two children and that's all I'll ever have. I love them dearly but I'm not going to cry over all the children I won't have.
So, spirit4u, can we send the half a million refugees from Africa and Middle East that are flooding Europe, to your back-yard? After all, you say that Mother Nature will cope.
Ask the 4000 Chinese people who die of pollution PER DAY, how well Mother Nature is coping.
What happened to the Worldwide Christian Church in 1958? You do know that Global Climate Change is, well, GLOBAL, right? Not just something that happens to America...
Your new pope is a lot smarter man than his predecessors. Also a lot smarter than most of his parishioners, I see.
@Tfaddict, pick the seventeen-year locusts. You can remain idle for a long time between gigs.
I would just like to point out that this person is correct on one thing, and one thing only: The Earth is not overpopulated.
Why? We produce plenty of food to feed all humans, it is simply poorly distributed. We have the technology to generate clean energy for all: capitalist for-profit competition simply disallows it. There is simply no good reason why there are poor people... our species has the technology and industry to generate material abundance for all, today.
Of course there is obviously a limit SOMEDAY. But in terms of how many people can be fed, warmed, sheltered, and educated, we have not reached it yet.
The trouble is not that there are too many humans... That was never a problem and won;t be for a while... but that our current society is terrible at distributing the goods we produce based on the needs of humans.
@ Spamming Tanks
Your conclusion kinda justifies there are too many people on Earth: if we do not have the logistics to bring the food to them, then it is as if the food was not produced.
It is a logistics chain. If one link does not work, then the whole chain collapses. Check the logistics problems in war, they are the same (plus, if you spam tanks without the petrol to make them work, you're screwed...)
The effects of global warming and overpopulation will hit the poorer countries that tend to be religious. Many of these will be Christian. God sure is a bugger for punishing its most faithful adherents.
Also, sins produce carbon dioxide?
"Climate has changed, it is caused by man, but not his economic or industrial activity, but his turning away from Christ and his only true church."
Running away from Christ changes the differential transmissivity of IR wavelengths?
On behalf of Pastafarians, I call dibs on pirate attacks, which will solve the whole global warming problem.
Due to an insane server, I formulated the post three times. Since I like the second best, I would like to point out that I am certain that Franciscus is not the Counter -Pope. Rather, the cult leader of your little sect is (judging from another board, they seem to belong to follow a small Spanish parish that claims a vision had appointed their priest to be the real pope in 1958).
Also, Svante Arrhenius first mentioned anthropomorphic global warming due to fossil fuels in 190 8. Although I guess if someone would be so inclined someone could find some pseudo-significant event here, but your explanation is of by fifty years.
@Indicible
No, I don;t think that is the conclusion at all. Your conclusion shows that you are not willing to entertain the possibility that our whole economic system is flawed in a deep way.
You don't have to me a Marxist to admit that when we have enough food to feed everyone but don't... there is something wrong.
The answer is not to eliminate people, but to eliminate or change systems or structures which don't work for people.
Confused?
