[Most of the atheists (and agnostics too) that I've met at the university level have been highly intelligent, thoughtful and well-studied people. In fact, when discussing theological and other issues, I greatly prefer their company over like-minded believers, who can usually only spout off what somebody else has told them w/ little original thought or study.]
So you're non-denominational but in a university? And you "greatly prefer" to hang out with atheists and agnostics because they're such originalists. If you don't mind me asking, then why are you posting here? I've still never met one that had ever read, much less understood, the Bible. The internet's crawling with those types.

Because you aren't "like-minded believers"?

If by those types, you mean Christians, I'd have to agree.
I've read large pieces of the Bible.
You lose.
Many, if not most, atheists know more about the Bible then your average Christian. In a lot of cases, it was reading the Bible carefully and understanding it that led them to become atheists.
In fact they know better than you, because they bother to know the enemy before saying nonsenses, unlike you. By Bible, you mean the nonsenses your pastor has told you. And by the way, with what type of people did Jesus hang most of the time?, see, you don´t read the Bible that much.
So Geno, since you have read and understood the bible, can you tell us why the four gospel accounts of the crucifixion can be accurate when they are incompatible?
Please note that if you respond with, "they are not incompatible" then you have either never read them or you have not understood them.
I Can't even beleive how easy is it to troll those forums.
Got banned twice by ''God'', so I went back shouting ''WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!?''

Good question. He seems to be someone who is secure enough in his faith that he's willing to have people shake the tree, so to speak. Sure as hell not gonna find people like that In Teens-4-Randy's little cult.
@LulzMonger
Banned by God, you say? Wow...you made it onto the big guy's radar enough to warrant his personal attention! Go you! :p
@ GigaGuess
T'was indeed quite amusing, I was damned to hell perhaps once or twice and brought down by said ''god''. After 5 minutes of internet hell, with new book-o-proxies in my hand same occured. I guess they took that claim I tossed while back, after some half-assed ''debate'' and couple logical fallacies.
''When you get to hell, tell them I sent you, you'll get group discount''
I guess they mistook me for Charon or something.

I'm an Atheist. I am also currently in my senior year going for a degree in Archaeology. In addition, I am in almost total support of evolution. I've read the bible, cover to cover, multiple times. I probably know more about it than you ever will, with your mindset.
He or she probably prefer to actually discuss religion, rather than listening to people merely repeating what others have told them, with no substance behind it.
I tried to read the Bible recently. I got bored out of my wits somewhere among all the Begat's and Burnt offerings and couldn't force myself to continue at that time. I have a colleague who's from Sweden's Bible Belt, but is now an atheist, and he's read the thing a couple of times. It's fun to discuss religion with him, as he knows so much about it.
The funny thing though, is that it is usually Atheists that encourage Christians to read the bible in its entirety, and not vice versa, and certainly not to cherry pick Bible verses.
Confused?
